1亞巴郎又續娶了一個妻子，名叫刻突辣。 1And Abraham married another wife, named Cetura:
2刻突辣給他生了齊默郎、約刻商、默丹、米德楊、依市巴克和叔哈。 2Who bore him Zamran, and Jecsan, and Madan, and Madian, and Jesboc, and Sue.
3約刻商生了舍巴和德丹；德丹的子孫是阿叔陵人、肋突興人和肋烏明人。 3Jecsan also begot Saba and Dadan. The children of Dadan were Assurim, and Latusim, and Loomin.
4米德楊的子孫是厄法、厄斐爾、哈諾客、阿彼達和厄耳達阿：以上都是刻突辣的子孫。 4But of Madian was born Epha, and Opher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaa: all these were the children of Cetura.
5亞巴郎將自己所有的財產都給了依撒格； 5And Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac.
6至於妾所生的兒子，亞巴郎給了他們一些禮物，在自己活著時，就叫他們離開自己的兒子依撒格，打發他們向東去，住在東方。 6And to the children of the concubines he gave gifts, and separated them from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, to the east country.
7亞巴郎一生的歲月共是一百七十五歲。 7And the days of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five years.
8亞巴郎壽高年老，已享天年，遂斷氣而死，歸到他親族那裡去了。 8And decaying he died in a good old age, and having lived a long time, and being full of days: and was gathered to his people.
9他的兒子依撒格和依市瑪耳，將他葬在面對瑪默勒，赫特人祚哈爾之子厄斐龍的田間瑪革培拉山洞內。 9And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;
10這塊田地是亞巴郎由赫特人那裡買來的；亞巴郎和妻子撒辣都葬在那裡。 10Which he had bought of the children of Heth: there was he buried, and Sara his wife.
11亞巴郎死後，天主祝福了他的兒子依撒格。依撒格定居在拉海洛依井附近。 11And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.
12以下是撒辣的婢女，埃及人哈加爾給亞巴郎生的依市瑪耳的後裔。 12These are the generations of Ismael the son of Abraham, whom Agar the Egyptian, Sara's servant, bore unto him:
13依市瑪耳的子孫名單，依照出生的次第記載如下：依市瑪耳的長子是乃巴約特，其次是刻達爾、阿德貝耳、米貝散、 13And these are the names of his children according to their calling and generations. The firstborn of Ismael was Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam.
14米市瑪、杜瑪、瑪薩， 14And Masma, and Duma, and Massa,
15哈達得、特瑪、耶突爾、納菲士和刻德瑪： 15Hadar, and Thema, and Jethur, and Naphis, and Cedma.
16以上都是依市瑪耳的兒子，這些人的名字也是他們的村莊和營地的名字，又是十二家族的族長。 16These are the sons of Ismael: and these are their names by their castles and towns, twelve princes of their tribes.
17依市瑪耳一生的歲月是一百三十七歲；然後斷氣而死，歸到他親族那裡去了。 17And the years of Ismael's life were a hundred and thirty-seven, and decaying he died, and was gathered unto his people.
18他的子孫住在從哈威拉直到埃及東面的叔爾，往亞述道上，對著自己的眾兄弟支搭帳幕。 18And he dwelt from Hevila as far as Sur, which looketh towards Egypt, to them that go towards the Assyrians. He died in the presence of all his brethren.

20依撒格四十歲時娶了帕丹阿蘭地阿蘭人貝突耳的女兒，阿蘭人拉班的妹妹黎貝加為妻。 20Who when he was forty years old, took to wife Rebecca the daughter of Bathuel the Syrian of Mesopotamia, sister to Laban.
21依撒格因為自己的妻子不生育，便為她懇求上主；上主俯允了他的祈求，他的妻子黎貝加遂懷了孕， 21And Isaac besought the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and he heard him, and made Rebecca to conceive.
22雙胎在她腹內互相衝突，於是她說：「若是這樣，我可怎麼辦？」遂去求問上主。 22But the children struggled in her womb: and she said: If it were to be so with me, what need was there to conceive? And she went to consult the Lord.
23上主答覆她說：「你一胎懷了兩個國家，你腹中所生的要分為兩個民族：一個民族強於另一民族，年長的要服事年幼的。」 23And he answering said: Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be divided out of thy womb, and one people shall overcome the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.
24到了生產的時候，她腹內果然是一對雙生； 24And when her time was come to be delivered, behold twins were found in her womb.
25首先產出的發紅，渾身是毛，如披毛裘，給他起名厄撒烏。 25He that came forth first was red, and hairy like a skin: and his name was called Esau. Immediately the other coming forth, held his brother's foot in his hand, and therefore he was called Jacob.
26他的弟弟隨後出生，一手握著厄撒烏的腳跟，為此給他起名叫雅各伯。他們誕生時，依撒格已是六十歲的人。 26Isaac was threescore years old when the children were born unto him.
27兩個孩童漸漸長大，厄撒烏成了個好打獵的人，喜居戶外；雅各伯卻為人恬靜，深居幕內。 27And when they were grown up, Esau became a skillful hunter, and a husbandman, but Jacob a plain man dwelt in tents.
28依撒格愛厄撒烏，因為他愛吃野味；黎貝加卻愛雅各伯。 28Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his hunting: and Rebecca loved Jacob.
29有一天、雅各伯正煮好豆羹，厄撒烏由田間回來，饑餓疲乏， 29And Jacob boiled pottage: to whom Esau, coming faint out of the field,
30便對雅各伯說：「請將這紅紅的東西給我點吃，因為我實在又餓又乏。」──因此他的名字又叫「厄東」。 30Said: Give me of this red pottage, for I am exceeding faint. For which reason his name was called Edom.
31雅各伯回答說：「你要將你長子的名分先賣給我。」 31And Jacob said to him: Sell me thy first birthright.
32厄撒烏說：「我快要死了，這長子的名分為我還有什麼益處？」 32He answered: Lo I die, what will the first birthright avail me?
33雅各伯接著說：「你得立刻對我起誓。」厄撒烏遂對他起了誓，將自己長子的名分賣給了雅各伯。 33Jacob said: Swear therefore to me. Esau swore to him, and sold his first birthright.
34雅各伯遂將餅和扁豆羹給了厄撒烏；他吃了喝了，起身走了。──厄撒烏竟如此輕視了長子的名分。 34And so taking bread and the pottage of lentils, he ate, and drank, and went his way; making little account of having sold his first birthright.
