1若瑟在眾侍從前不能再抑制自己，就喊說：「叫眾人離開我出去！」這樣，若瑟使兄弟認出自己來時，沒有別人在場。 1Joseph could no longer refrain himself before many that stood by: whereupon he commanded that all should go out, and no stranger be present at their knowing one another.
2他便放聲大哭，埃及人都聽到了，法郎朝廷也聽到了。 2And he lifted up his voice with weeping, which the Egyptians and all the house of Pharao heard.
3若瑟對兄弟們說：「我就是若瑟，我父親還在嗎？」他的兄弟們不能回答，因為在他面前都嚇呆了。 3And he said to his brethren: I am Joseph: is my father yet living? His brethren could not answer him, being struck with exceeding great fear.
4若瑟又對兄弟們說：「請你們近前來。」他們就上前去。若瑟說：「我就是你們賣到埃及的弟弟若瑟。 4And he said mildly to them: Come nearer to me. And when they were come near him, he said: I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5現在你們不要因為將我賣到這裡便自憂自責；這原是天主派遣我在你們以先來，為保全你們的性命。 5Be not afraid, and let it not seem to you a hard case that you sold me into these countries: for God sent me before you into Egypt for your preservation.
6地方上的饑荒纔過了第二年，還有五年，不能耕種，不能收割。 6For it is two years since the famine began to be upon the land, and five years more remain, wherein there can be neither ploughing nor reaping.
7天主派遣我在你們以先來，是為給你們在地上留下後裔，給你們保全多人的性命。 7And God sent me before, that you may be preserved upon the earth, and may have food to live.
8所以叫我到這裡來的並不是你們，而是天主；是他立我作法郎之父，作他全家的主人，作全埃及地的總理。 8Not by your counsel was I sent hither, but by the will of God: who hath made me as it were a father to Pharao, and lord of his whole house, and governor in all the land of Egypt.
9你們急速上到我父親那裡，對他說：你的兒子若瑟這樣說：天主立我作了全埃及的主人，請你下到我這裡來，不要遲延。 9Make haste, and go ye up to my father, and say to him: Thus saith thy son Joseph: God hath made me lord of the whole land of Egypt: come down to me, linger not.
10你和你的兒孫，以及你的羊群牲畜，並你一切所有，都可住在哥笙地，離我不遠， 10And thou shalt dwell in the land of Gessen: and thou shalt be near me, thou and thy sons, and thy sons' sons, thy sheep, and thy herds, and all things that thou hast.
11我好在那裡奉養你，免得你和你的眷屬，並你一切所有陷於貧乏，因為尚有五年饑荒。 11And there I will feed thee, (for there are yet five years of famine remaining), lest both thou perish, and thy house, and all things that thou hast.
12看你們和我的弟弟本雅明都親眼見到，是我親口在對你們說話。 12Behold, your eyes, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see that it is my mouth that speaketh to you.
13你們要將我在埃及的一切光榮，和你們親見的一切，都告訴我父親，儘速帶我父親下到這裡來。」 13You shall tell my father of all my glory, and all things that you have seen in Egypt: make haste and bring him to me.
14說畢，便撲在他弟弟本雅明的頸上哭起來了，本雅明也伏在他頸上哭泣。 14And falling upon the neck of his brother Benjamin, he embraced him and wept: and Benjamin in like manner wept also on his neck.
15然後與眾兄弟親吻，抱著他們痛哭。這以後，他的兄弟們纔敢與他交談。 15And Joseph kissed all his brethren, and wept upon every one of them: after which they were emboldened to speak to him.
16法郎朝廷聽說若瑟兄弟來了的消息，法郎和他的臣僕都很高興。 16And it was heard, and the fame was abroad in the king's court: The brethren of Joseph are come: and Pharao with all his family was glad.
17法郎便對若瑟說：「你對你的兄弟們說：你們應這樣做：備好牲口，立即往客納罕地去， 17And he spoke to Joseph that he should give orders to his brethren, saying: Load your beasts, and go into the land of Chanaan.
18接你們的父親和家眷到我這裡來，我願賜給你們埃及地最好的出產，使你們享受本地的肥物。 18And bring away from thence your father and kindred, and come to me: and I will give you all the good things of Egypt, that you may eat the marrow of the land.
19你再吩咐他們說：你們應這樣做：從埃及帶些車輛去接你們的子女和妻子，並把你們的父親接來； 19Give orders also that they take wagons out of the land of Egypt, for the carriage of their children and their wives: and say: Take up your father, and make haste to come with all speed:
20不要顧惜你們的物品，因為全埃及地最好的出品都歸你們享用。」 20And leave nothing of your household stuff: for all the riches of Egypt shall be yours.
21以色列的兒子們就這樣做了。若瑟依照法郎的吩咐，給了他們一些車輛和路上用的食糧； 21And the sons of Israel did as they were bid. And Joseph gave them wagons according to Pharao's commandment: and provisions for the way.
22又給了每人一套新衣，至於本雅明，卻給了他三百銀錢和五套新衣； 22He ordered also to be brought out for every one of them two robes: but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver with five robes of the best:
23同樣，給他父親送去十匹公驢，滿載埃及最好的出品，十匹母驢，滿載糧食麵餅，和為父親路上用的食品。 23Sending to his father as much money and raiment, adding besides ten he asses to carry off all the riches of Egypt, and as many she asses, carrying wheat and bread for the journey.
24隨後打發他的兄弟們走了；當他們離別時，對他們說：「路上不要爭吵！」 24So he sent away his brethren, and at their departing said to them: Be not angry in the way.
25若瑟的兄弟們由埃及上到客納罕，他們父親雅各伯那裡， 25And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Chanaan to their father Jacob.
26告訴他說：「若瑟還活著，而且做了全埃及國的總理。」雅各伯聽了心中淡然，並不相信。 26And they told him, saying: Joseph thy son is living: and he is ruler in all the land of Egypt. Which when Jacob heard, he awaked as it were out of a deep sleep, yet did not believe them.
27及至他們將若瑟對他們所說的話，全講給他聽，他又看了若瑟打發來接他的車輛，他們的父親雅各伯的心神才甦醒過來。 27They, on the other side, told the whole order of the thing. And when he saw the wagons and all that he had sent his spirit revived,
28以色列於是說：「只要我兒若瑟還在，我就心滿意足了；在我未死以前，我該去見他一面。」 28And he said: It is enough for me, if Joseph my son be yet living: I will go and see him before I die.

记述若瑟的伟大：他忘了哥哥对他的不好，不但没有报复的心，而且还称颂天主上智的安排。
45:24
「不要争吵」，是说兄弟们不要为了从前出卖自己的事，争论是非。由此可知他慷慨大量，已完全宽恕了他们。
