Chapter 1
1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan ( 1 in the desert, in the Arabah, opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab;
以下是梅瑟在约但河东岸，对全以色列所讲的话。──即在稣夫对面的阿辣巴旷野中，在帕兰与托费耳、拉班、哈则洛特和狄匝哈布之间。
2 it is a journey of eleven days from Horeb to Kadesh-barnea by way of the highlands of Seir).
从曷勒布经色依尔山，到卡德士巴尔乃亚，共有十一天的程路。──
3 In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses spoke to the Israelites all the commands that the LORD had given him in their regard.
在第四十年十一月一日，梅瑟将上主吩咐他的一切事，全训示了以色列子民。
4 After he had defeated Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og, king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth and in Edrei,
当时他已击败住在赫市朋的阿摩黎王息红，和住在阿舍塔洛特和厄德勒的巴商王敖格。
5 Moses began to explain the law in the land of Moab beyond the Jordan, as follows:
梅瑟在约但河东岸摩阿布地方开始宣讲这法律说：
6 ＂The LORD, our God, said to us at Horeb, 'You have stayed long enough at this mountain.
＂上主，我们的天主，在曷勒布曾训示我们说：你们在这山下住得够久了，
7 2 Leave here and go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all the surrounding regions, the land of the Canaanites in the Arabah, the mountains, the foothills, the Negeb and the seacoast; to Lebanon, and as far as the Great River (the Euphrates).
现在起身出发，到阿摩黎人的山地去，到那些住在阿辣巴荒野、山地、盆地、乃革布和沿海一带地方去，到客纳罕地，到黎巴嫩，直到大河，即幼发拉的河那一带地方去。
8 I have given that land over to you. Go now and occupy the land I swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I would give to them and to their descendants.'
看，我已将此地摆在你们面前，你们应去占领上主誓许给你们的祖先亚巴郎、依撒格、雅各伯和他们后裔的地方。＂
9 3 ＂At that time I said to you, 'Alone, I am unable to carry you.
那时我对你们说过：我个人无法负担你们。
10 The LORD, your God, has so multiplied you that you are now as numerous as the stars in the sky.
上主你们的天主使你们的人数增加，看，你们今天多得有如天上的繁星。
11 May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times over, and bless you as he promised!
惟愿上主你们祖先的天主，再千百倍地增加你们的数目，照他所应许的，降福你们！
12 But how can I alone bear the crushing burden that you are, along with your bickering?
但我个人怎能承担起你们的烦务、重任和诉讼的事！
13 Choose wise, intelligent and experienced men from each of your tribes, that I may appoint them as your leaders.'
你们各支派应推举一些有智慧，有见识，有经验的人，我好立他们为你们的首领。
14 You answered me, ‘We agree to do as you have proposed.'
你们回答我说：＂你建议的事很好。＂
15 So I took outstanding men of your tribes, wise and experienced, and made them your leaders as officials over thousands, over hundreds, over fifties and over tens, and other tribal officers.
我遂选了你们各支派中有智慧有经验的首领，立为你们的首领：即千夫长、百夫长、五十夫长、十人长，并为各支派立了监督，
16 I charged your judges at that time, 'Listen to complaints among your kinsmen, and administer true justice to both parties even if one of them is an alien.
同时我也吩咐你们的判官说：你们要听断你们兄弟间的诉讼：无论是兄弟彼此诉讼，或与方外人诉讼，都应秉公审断。
17 In rendering judgment, do not consider who a person is; give ear to the lowly and to the great alike, fearing no man, for judgment is God's. Refer to me any case that is too hard for you and I will hear it.'
审案时不可偏袒，无论贵贱，同样听断；任何人都不要怕，因为审判是天主的事。若遇有难断的案件，该呈报给我，我来听断。
18 Thereupon I gave you all the commands you were to fulfill.
同时，凡你们当做的事，我都吩咐了你们。
19 ＂Then, in obedience to the command of the LORD, our God, we set out from Horeb and journeyed through the whole desert, vast and fearful as you have seen, in the direction of the hill country of the Amorites. We had reached Kadesh-barnea
我们由曷勒布起程，经过了你们所见的这整个辽阔可怖的旷野：照上主我们的天主对我们的吩咐，我们向阿摩黎人山地进发，一直来到了卡德士巴尔乃亚。
20 when I said to you,‘You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which the LORD, our God, is giving us.
那时我曾对你们说：你们已来到上主我们的天主即将赐给我们的阿摩黎人的山地。
21 The LORD, your God, has given this land over to you. Go up and occupy it, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, commands you. Do not fear or lose heart.'
看上主你的天主已将这地摆在你面前，你要照上主你祖先的天主对你所许下的，去占领这地；不要害怕，也不要胆怯。
22 Then all of you came up to me and said, ‘Let us send men ahead to reconnoiter the land for us and report to us on the road we must follow and the cities we must take.'
你们众人便来到我跟前说：＂让我们先派些人去，替我们侦探那地方，然后回报我们，我们当走那条路，当去那些城。＂
23 Agreeing with the proposal, I chose twelve men from your number, one from each tribe.
我就由你们中挑选了十二人，每支派一人；
24 They set out into the hill country as far as the Wadi Eshcol, and explored it.
他们起身上了山地，一直到了厄市苛耳山谷，侦探了那地。
25 Then, taking along some of the fruit of the land, they brought it down to us and reported, 'The land which the LORD, our God, gives us is good.'
他们带回来那地方的一些果品，并回报我们说：＂上主我们的天主即将赐给我们的地方实在好。＂
26 ＂But you refused to go up, and after defying the command of the LORD, your God,
但你们却不肯上去，竟违背了上主你们天主的命令，
27 4 you set to murmuring in your tents, 'Out of hatred for us the LORD has brought us up out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites and destroy us.
在你们的帐幕内抱怨说：＂上主因为恨我们，才将我们由埃及地领出来，将我们交在阿摩黎人手中，消灭我们。
28 What shall we meet with up there? Our kinsmen have made us fainthearted by reporting that the people are stronger and taller than we, and their cities are large and fortified to the sky; besides, they saw the Anakim there.'
我们上那里去呢？我们的兄弟又说了些使我们心灰意冷的话。他们说：我们在那里看见了一个比我们又大又高的民族，他们的城邑广大，城墙高耸摩天；我们在那里还看见了阿纳克人的子孙。＂
29 ＂But I said to you, ‘Have no dread or fear of them.
我遂对你们说：＂不要畏惧，不要害怕。
30 The LORD, your God, who goes before you, will himself fight for you, just as he took your part before your very eyes in Egypt,
因为上主你们的天主，走在你们前面，他必为你们作战，正如他在埃及在你们眼前，为你们所做的一样；
31 as well as in the desert, where you saw how the LORD, your God, carried you, as a man carries his child, all along your journey until you arrived at this place.'
并且在旷野里，你也看出上主你的天主在你所走的长途中，携带你们，如同人携带自己的儿子一样，直到你们来到这地方。
32 Despite this, you would not trust the LORD, your God,
虽然如此，但你们仍不信赖上主你们的天主，
33 who journeys before you to find you a resting place--by day in the cloud, and by night in the fire, to show the way you must go.
他一路原走在你们前面，替你们找安营的地方：夜间借着火，日间借着云彩，指示你们应走的道路。
34 When the LORD heard your words, he was angry;
上主一听见你们的怨声，就发怒起誓说：＂
35 and he swore, ‘Not one man of this evil generation shall look upon the good land I swore to give to your fathers,
这个邪恶世代的人，一个也不得见我誓许要赐给你们祖先的乐土；
36 5 except Caleb, son of Jephunneh; he shall see it. For to him and to his sons I will give the land he trod upon, because he has followed the LORD unreservedly.'
只有耶孚乃的儿子加肋布除外，他必见到此地，并且我要将他踏过的地，赐给他和他的子孙，因为他一心随从了上主。＂
37 ＂The LORD was angered against me also on your account, and said,‘Not even you shall enter there,
为了你们的缘故，上主也对我发怒说：＂连你也不能进入那地。
38 but your aide Joshua, son of Nun, shall enter. Encourage him, for he is to give Israel its heritage.
那侍候你的农的儿子若苏厄，要进入那地；你应壮他的胆，因为他要使以色列占领那地作为产业。
39 Your little ones, who you said would become booty, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad--they shall enter; to them I will give it, and they shall occupy it.
此外，你们所说要成为战利品的幼童，至今尚不知好歹的子女，他们都要进入那地。我要将那地赐给他们作为产业。
40 But as for yourselves: turn about and proceed into the desert on the Red Sea road.'
至于你们应转向红海出发，往旷野里去。＂
41 ＂In reply you said to me, 'We have sinned against the LORD. We will go up ourselves and fight, just as the LORD, our God, commanded us.' And each of you girded on his weapons, making light of going up into the hill country.
你们回答我说：＂我们得罪了上主；现在我们愿全照上主我们的天主的吩咐上去交战。＂你们各人遂都武装起来，轻率地上了山地。
42 But the LORD said to me, ‘Warn them: Do not go up and fight, lest you be beaten down before your enemies, for I will not be in your midst.'
但上主对我说：＂你告诉他们说：你们不要上去，不要作战，因为我不在你们中间，免得被敌人击败。＂
43 I gave you this warning but you would not listen. In defiance of the LORD'S command you arrogantly marched off into the hill country.
我立即告诉了你们，你们却不听，违背上主的命令，擅自上了山地。
44 Then the Amorites living there came out against you and, like bees, chased you, cutting you down in Seir as far as Hormah.
住在山地的阿摩黎人蜂拥而出，攻击你们，追赶你们，由色依尔直杀到曷尔玛。
45 On your return you wept before the LORD, but he did not listen to your cry or give ear to you.
你们回来，在上主面前哭泣哀号，但上主未曾俯听你们的哭声，也未向你们侧耳；
46 That is why you had to stay as long as you did at Kadesh.
你们只得长期地停留在卡德士，停留得这样长久。

Chapter 2
1 "When we did turn and proceed into the desert on the Red Sea road, as the LORD had commanded me, we circled around the highlands of Seir for a long time.
以后，我们照上主对我吩咐的，转向红海出发，往旷野进行，我们围着色依尔山地绕行了很久。
2 Finally the LORD said to me,
那时上主对我说：“
3 'You have wandered round these highlands long enough; turn and go north.
你们绕行这山地已够久了，如今该转向北方。
4 Give this order to the people: You are now about to pass through the territory of your kinsmen, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. Though they are afraid of you, be very careful
你吩咐人民说：你们要经过你们的兄弟厄撒乌子孙所住的色依尔地区；他们必畏惧你们，但你们却应小心，
5 not to come in conflict with them, for I will not give you so much as a foot of their land, since I have already given Esau possession of the highlands of Seir.
不要与他们挑战，因为他们的地，连脚掌那么大的一块地，我也没有给你们，因为我已将色依尔山地给了厄撒乌作产业。
6 You shall purchase from them with silver the food you eat and the well water you drink.
你们应用钱向他们买粮吃，用钱向他们买水喝。
7 The LORD, your God, has blessed you in all your undertakings; he has been concerned about your journey through this vast desert. It is now forty years that he has been with you, and you have never been in want.'
的确，上主你的天主降福了你所作的一切，护卫你经过了这辽阔的旷野，这四十年来，上主你的天主常与你同在，使你什么也不曾缺少。”
8 "Then we left behind us the Arabah route, Elath, Ezion-geber, and Seir, where our kinsmen, the descendants of Esau, live; and we went on toward the desert of Moab.
于是我们绕过了我们的兄弟厄撒乌的子孙所住的色依尔，沿阿辣巴路到了厄拉特，和厄兹雍革贝尔，然后转向摩阿布旷野进发。
9 And the LORD said to me, 'Do not show hostility to the Moabites or engage them in battle, for I will not give you possession of any of their land, since I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as their own.
那时上主对我说：“不要扰乱摩阿布人，不要与他们挑战，他们的土地我一点也不会给你作产业，因为我已将阿尔给了罗特子孙作产业。
10 (Formerly the Emim lived there, a people strong and numerous and tall like the Anakim;
【原先住在那里的，是强大众多，身材魁伟象阿纳克人的厄明民族。
11 like them they were considered Rephaim. It was the Moabites who called them Emim.
他们象阿纳克人一样,也算是勒法因人，但摩阿布人却称他们为厄明人。
12 In Seir, however, the former inhabitants were the Horites; the descendants of Esau dispossessed them, clearing them out of the way and taking their place, just as the Israelites have done in the land of their heritage which the LORD has given them.)
同样，在色依尔原先住有曷黎人；但厄撒乌的子孙侵占了他们的产业，消灭了他们，住在他们境内，就如以色列人对上主赐给他们作产业的土地所做的一样。】
13 Get ready, then, to cross the Wadi Zered.' So we crossed it.
你们现在起身，过则勒得溪。”我们就过了则勒得溪。
14 Thirty-eight years had elapsed between our departure from Kadesh-barnea and that crossing; in the meantime the whole generation of soldiers had perished from the camp, as the LORD had sworn they should.
从离开卡德士巴尔乃亚到我们过了则勒得溪所用的时间，共计三十八年，直到能作战的那一代，照上主对他们所起的誓，由营中完全消灭。
15 For it was the LORD'S hand that was against them, till he wiped them out of the camp completely.
实在是上主的手攻击了他们，使他们由营中完全消灭。
16 "When at length death had put an end to all the soldiers among the people,
所有的战士由民中死尽以后，
17 the LORD said to me,
上主吩咐我说：
18 'You are now about to leave Ar and the territory of Moab behind.
“你今天路过摩阿布的领土，即阿尔，
19 As you come opposite the Ammonites, do not show hostility or come in conflict with them, for I will not give you possession of any land of the Ammonites, since I have given it to the descendants of Lot as their own.
就要面临阿孟子民；但不要扰乱他们，不要与他们挑战，阿孟子民的土地我一点也不会给你作产业，因为我已将这地给了罗特子孙作产业。
20 (This also was considered a country of the Rephaim from its former inhabitants, whom the Ammonites called Zamzummim,
【这地也算是勒法因人地，勒法因人先前住在那里，阿孟人称他们为“匝默组明”。
21 a people strong and numerous and tall like the Anakim. But these, too, the LORD cleared out of the way for the Ammonites, who ousted them and took their place.
他们象阿纳克人一样，是强大众多，身材魁伟的民族；但上主却由阿孟人面前消灭了他们，使阿孟人占有他们的产业，住在他们境内，
22 He had done the same for the descendants of Esau, who dwell in Seir, by clearing the Horites out of their way, so that the descendants of Esau have taken their place down to the present.
正如上主为住在色依尔的厄撒乌子孙所做的一样：即由他们面前消灭了曷黎人，使厄撒乌的子孙占有他们的产业，住在他们的境内，直到今日。
23 1 So also the Caphtorim, migrating from Caphtor, cleared away the Avvim, who once dwelt in villages as far as Gaza, and took their place.)
同样，阿威人原先住在迦萨附近各村庄内，有加非托尔人由加非托尔来，将他们消灭，住在他们境内。】
24 "'Advance now across the Wadi Arnon. I now deliver into your hands Sihon, the Amorite king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin the occupation; engage him in battle.
你们起身出发，过阿尔农河。看，我已将阿摩黎人赫市朋王息红和他的土地交在你手中；进军占领，与他交战。
25 This day I will begin to put a fear and dread of you into every nation under the heavens, so that at the mention of your name they will quake and tremble before you.'
从今日起，我要使天下万民在你面前惊慌害怕，使他们一听见你的消息就战栗；一看见你的面目就发抖。”
26 "So I sent messengers from the desert of Kedemoth to Sihon, king of Heshbon, with this offer of peace:
我于是由刻德摩特旷野，派遣使者到赫市朋王息红那里，和平谈判说：
27 'Let me pass through your country by the highway; I will go along it without turning aside to the right or to the left.
让我从你国内经过，我只走大道，不偏右也不偏左。
28 For the food I eat which you will supply, and for the water you give me to drink, you shall be paid in silver. Only let me march through,
你按价钱卖给我粮吃，按价钱供给我水喝；只让我步行过去，──
29 as the descendants of Esau who dwell in Seir and the Moabites who dwell in Ar have done, until I cross the Jordan into the land which the LORD, our God, is about to give us.'
如住在色依尔的厄撒乌子孙和住在阿尔的摩阿布人，对我所做的一样，──好使我过约但河，进入上主我们的天主赐给我们的地方。
30 But Sihon, king of Heshbon, refused to let us pass through his land, because the LORD, your God, made him stubborn in mind and obstinate in heart that he might deliver him up to you, as indeed he has now done.
但是赫市朋王息红，不肯让我们从他那里经过，因为上主你的天主使他顽固，使他心硬，好将他交在你手中，就如今日一样。
31 "Then the LORD said to me, 'Now that I have already begun to hand over to you Sihon and his land, begin the actual occupation.'
上主对我说：看，我已将息红和他的土地交给了你，你应进军占领他的土地。”
32 So Sihon and all his people advanced against us to join battle at Jahaz;
那时息红和他所有的民众出来攻击我们，在雅哈兹与我们交战；
33 but since the LORD, our God, had delivered him to us, we defeated him and his sons and all his people.
但上主我们的天主将他交给了我们，我们击杀了他，他的儿子和他所有的人民。
34 2 At that time we seized all his cities and doomed them all, with their men, women and children; we left no survivor.
同时我们也占领了他所有的城邑，照毁灭律将全城破坏，不论男女或幼童，全都杀死，没有留下一个，
35 Our only booty was the livestock and the loot of the captured cities.
只留下了牲畜和由占领的城邑中所夺的财物，作我们的战利品。
36 From Aroer on the edge of the Wadi Arnon and from the city in the wadi itself, as far as Gilead, no city was too well fortified for us to whom the LORD had delivered them up.
由阿尔农谷边的阿洛厄尔和谷中的城直到基肋阿得，没有一座城不被我们攻下的，上主我们的天主将这一切全交给了我们，
37 However, in obedience to the command of the LORD, our God, you did not encroach upon any of the Ammonite land, neither the region bordering on the Wadi Jabbok, nor the cities of the highlands.
只有阿孟子孙的土地，即雅波克河一带和山地的城邑，你没有进攻，全照上主我们的天主所吩咐的。

Chapter 3
1 ＂Then we turned and proceeded toward Bashan. But Og, king of Bashan, advanced against us with all his people to give battle at Edrei.
然后我们转向巴商进发；巴商王敖格和他所有的民众出来攻击我们，在厄德勒与我们交战。
2 The LORD, however, said to me, ‘Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hand with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.'
上主对我说：＂你不要怕他，因为我已将他、他所有的民众和土地都交在你手中；你对待他，应如对待住在赫市朋的阿摩黎人王息红一样。＂
3 And thus the LORD, our God, delivered into our hands Og, king of Bashan, with all his people. We defeated him so completely that we left him no survivor.
上主我们的天主也将巴商王敖格，和他所有的民众交在我们的手中；我们击杀了他，一个也没有给他留下。
4 At that time we captured all his cities, none of them eluding our grasp, the whole region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan: sixty cities in all,
同时我们占领了他所有的城邑，没有一座城不为我们所占领；巴商王敖格的国土，阿尔哥布全地区共有六十座城邑，
5 to say nothing of the great number of unwalled towns. All the cities were fortified with high walls and gates and bars.
都是些具有高阔的城墙，安门置闩，设防的城邑；此外尚有很多无围墙的村庄。
6 As we had done to Sihon, king of Heshbon, so also here we doomed all the cities, with their men, women and children;
我们照毁灭律毁灭了这些城邑，有如对赫市朋王息红所做的一样，杀尽了各城中的男女和幼童，
7 but all the livestock and the loot of each city we took as booty for ourselves.
只留下了牲畜和由占领的城中所夺的财物，作我们的战利品。
8 ＂And so at that time we took from the two kings of the Amorites beyond the Jordan the territory from the Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon
这样，我们在那时，由这两个阿摩黎人王的手中，夺得了约但河东岸的土地，自阿尔农河直到赫尔孟山。
9 (which is called Sirion by the Sidonians and Senir by the Amorites),
【漆冬人称赫尔孟为息尔翁；阿摩黎人则称之为色尼尔。】
10 comprising all the cities of the plateau and all Gilead and all the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan including Salecah and Edrei.
即夺得了高原上所有的城邑，全基肋阿得和全巴商，直到撒耳加和厄德勒：这都是巴商王敖格国土内的城邑。
11 1 (Og, king of Bashan, was the last remaining survivor of the Rephaim. He had a bed of iron, nine regular cubits long and four wide, which is still preserved in Rabbah of the Ammonites.)
【巴商王敖格是勒法因人遗族中仅存的人物；他的床是铁做的，以人肘为度，长九肘，宽四肘，尚存在阿孟子民的辣巴城里。】
12 ＂When we occupied the land at that time, I gave Reuben and Gad the territory from Aroer, on the edge of the Wadi Arnon, halfway up into the highlands of Gilead, with the cities therein.
我由我们那时所占领的土地中，将阿尔农河边的阿洛厄尔以北的地方，基肋阿得山地的一半和境内的城邑，给了勒乌本人和加得人；
13 The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, the whole Argob region, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (All this region of Bashan was once called a land of the Rephaim.
基肋阿得其余的地方和全巴商，即敖格的国土给了默纳协半个支派。【人称阿尔哥布全地区，即全巴商，为＂勒法因人地。＂
14 Jair, a Manassehite clan, took all the region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and called it after his own name Bashan Havvoth-jair, the name it bears today.)
默纳协的儿子雅依尔，占领了阿尔哥布全地区，直到革叔尔人和玛阿加人的边界，遂按自己的名字称那地为＂哈沃特雅依尔，＂直到今日。】
15 To Machir I gave Gilead,
我又将基肋阿得给了玛基尔。
16 and to Reuben and Gad the territory from Gilead to the Wadi Arnon--including the wadi bed and its banks--and to the Wadi Jabbok, which is the border of the Ammonites,
由基肋阿得到阿尔农河，以河中心为边界，直到雅波克河，即阿孟人的边界，我将那一带地方给了勒乌本人和加得人；
17 as well as the Arabah with the Jordan and its eastern banks from Chinnereth to the Salt Sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.
还有阿辣巴荒野，以约但河为界，从基乃辣特直到阿辣巴海，即直到东面靠近丕斯加山坡的盐海一带地方。
18 2 ＂At that time I charged them as follows 'The LORD, your God, has given you this land as your own. But all you troops equipped for battle must cross over in the vanguard of your brother Israelites.
那时我吩咐你们说：＂上主你们的天主，将这地赐给了你们作产业，但你们所有战士，应武装起来，走在你们兄弟以色列子民前面，
19 Only your wives and children, as well as your livestock, of which I know you have a large number, shall remain behind in the towns I have given you,
只有你们的妇孺和牲畜，──我知道你们有很多牲畜──可留在我给你们的城内，
20 until the LORD has settled your kinsmen as well, and they too possess the land which the LORD, your God, will give them on the other side of the Jordan. Then you may all return to the possessions I have given you.'
直到上主使你们的兄弟如你们一样有了安身之处，等他们也占领了，上主你们的天主赐给他们的约但河西的地方，那时你们各人才可回到我给你们为产业的地方。
21 ＂It was then that I instructed Joshua, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the LORD, your God, has done to both these kings; so, too, will the LORD do to all the kingdoms which you will encounter over there.
同时我也吩咐若苏厄说：你亲眼看见了，上主你们的天主对这两个国王所做的一切；上主必同样对待你要过河去攻击的一切王国。
22 Fear them not, for the LORD, your God, will fight for you.'
不要怕他们，因为上主你们的天主要替你们作战。＂
23 ＂And it was then that I besought the LORD,

24 ‘O Lord GOD, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and might. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform deeds as mighty as yours?
＂我主，上主！你已开始向你的仆人显示你的伟大和你有力的手臂，天上地下有那个神能作你所作的工作，行你所行的奇事？
25 Ah, let me cross over and see this good land beyond the Jordan, this fine hill country, and the Lebanon!'
求你让我过去，得见约但河西的肥美土地，那壮丽的山岭和黎巴嫩。＂
26 But the LORD was angry with me on your account and would not hear me.‘Enough!' the LORD said to me.‘Speak to me no more of this.
但是上主为了你们的缘故对我发怒，没有俯听我，且对我说，＂罢了！不要对我再提这事。
27 Go up to the top of Pisgah and look out to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east. Look well, for you shall not cross this Jordan.
你上丕斯加山顶去，举目向东西南北，好好观看，因为你不能过这约但河。
28 Commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall cross at the head of this people and shall put them in possession of the land you are to see.'
你应训示若苏厄，坚固他，鼓励他，因为他要率领这百姓过去，给他们分配你所观看的地方。＂
29 This was while we were in the ravine opposite Beth-peor.

Chapter 4
1 ＂Now, Israel, hear the statutes and decrees which I am teaching you to observe, that you may live, and may enter in and take possession of the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

2 In your observance of the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I enjoin upon you, you shall not add to what I command you nor subtract from it.
我吩咐你们的话，你们不可增删，而应全守我向你们所训示的，上主你们天主的诫命。
3 You have seen with your own eyes what the LORD did at Baal-peor: the LORD, your God, destroyed from your midst everyone that followed the Baal of Peor;
你们亲眼见了上主在巴耳培敖尔所做的事：凡随从巴耳培敖尔的人，上主你们的天主都由你们中间消灭了；
4 but you, who clung to the LORD, your God, are all alive today.
你们依附上主你们的天主的人，今日都还活着。
5 Therefore, I teach you the statutes and decrees as the LORD, my God, has commanded me, that you may observe them in the land you are entering to occupy.
看，我授与你们法令和规律，都是上主我的天主吩咐与我的，好叫你们在你们要去占领的土地内，依照遵行。
6 Observe them carefully, for thus will you give evidence of your wisdom and intelligence to the nations, who will hear of all these statutes and say, ‘This great nation is truly a wise and intelligent people.'
你们要谨守遵行，因为这样，在万民眼中，才能显出你们的智慧和见识；他们一听到这一切法令说：＂这实在是一个有智慧，有见识的大民族！＂
7 For what great nation is there that has gods so close to it as the LORD, our God, is to us whenever we call upon him?
有那个大民族的神这样接近他们，如同上主我们的天主，在我们每次呼求他时，这样亲近我们呢？
8 Or what great nation has statutes and decrees that are as just as this whole law which I am setting before you today?
又有那个大民族，有这样公正的法令和规律，如同我今天在你们面前，所颁布的这一切法律呢？
9 ＂However, take care and be earnestly on your guard not to forget the things which your own eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your memory as long as you live, but teach them to your children and to your children's children.
你应谨慎，加意留心，不要忘了你亲眼所见的奇事，终生日日不要让这些事远离你的心，并要将这一切传于你的子子孙孙。
10 1 There was the day on which you stood before the LORD, your God, at Horeb, and he said to me,‘Assemble the people for me; I will have them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me as long as they live in the land and may so teach their children.'
当你在曷勒布，站在上主你的天主面前的那一天，上主曾对我说：＂你给我召集民众，我要叫他们听清我的话，使他们在世有生之日，学习敬畏我，以此教训自己的子女。＂
11 You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, which blazed to the very sky with fire and was enveloped in a dense black cloud.
你们遂走上前来，站在山脚下，其时山上火焰冲天，且为黑暗和乌云笼罩着。
12 Then the LORD spoke to you from the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; there was only a voice.
上主由火中对你们说话，你们听到说话的声音，却见不到什么形状，只有声音。
13 He proclaimed to you his covenant, which he commanded you to keep: the ten commandments, which he wrote on two tablets of stone.
他将他的盟约，即那十条诫命，给你们宣布出来，吩咐你们遵守，又将这诫命写在两块石版上；
14 The LORD charged me at that time to teach you the statutes and decrees which you are to observe over in the land you will occupy.
同时上主也吩咐我将法令和规律教训你们．叫你们在要去占领的土地内遵行。
15 ＂You saw no form at all on the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire. Be strictly on your guard, therefore,
你们应极其谨慎：因为上主你们的天主，在曷勒布由火中对你们说话的那天，你们既然没有见到什么形状，
16 not to degrade yourselves by fashioning an idol to represent any figure, whether it be the form of a man or a woman,
那么，你们切不要堕落，为自己制造任何形状的神象，无论是男或者是女的形状，
17 of any animal on the earth or of any bird that flies in the sky,
或地上各种走兽的形状，或空中各类飞鸟的形状，
18 of anything that crawls on the ground or of any fish in the waters under the earth.

19 And when you look up to the heavens and behold the sun or the moon or any star among the heavenly hosts, do not be led astray into adoring them and serving them. These the LORD, your God, has let fall to the lot of all other nations under the heavens;
当你举目望天，观看日月星辰，和天上的众星宿时，切不要为之勾引，而去敬拜事奉。那原是上主，你的天主分赐给普天下万民享用的；
20 2 but you he has taken and led out of that iron foundry, Egypt, that you might be his very own people, as you are today.
至于你们，上主拣选了你们，将你们由铁炉中──埃及──领出来，作他特有的子民，就如今日一样。
21 Since the LORD was angered against me on your account and swore that I should not cross the Jordan nor enter the good land which he is giving you as a heritage,
可是，上主为了你们的缘故，对我发怒起誓，不让我过约但河，不许我进入，上主你的天主赐给你作产业的那肥美的土地；
22 I myself shall die in this country without crossing the Jordan; but you will cross over and take possession of that good land.
我只有死在这地方，不得过约但河；你们都要过去，占领那肥美的土地为产业，
23 Take heed, therefore, lest, forgetting the covenant which the LORD, your God, has made with you, you fashion for yourselves against his command an idol in any form whatsoever.
那么你们应谨慎，不要忘记上主你们的天主与你们所订立的盟约，不要制造任何形状的神象，有如上主你的天主所禁止的，
24 For the LORD, your God, is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
因为上主你的天主是吞噬的烈火，忌邪的天主。
25 3 ＂When you have children and grandchildren, and have grown old in the land, should you then degrade yourselves by fashioning an idol in any form and by this evil done in his sight provoke the LORD, your God,
当你们生养了子孙，在那地住得久了，如果你们堕落下去，制造任何形状的偶象，行了上主你的天主眼中视为邪恶的事，惹他发怒，
26 I call heaven and earth this day to witness against you, that you shall all quickly perish from the land which you will occupy when you cross the Jordan. You shall not live in it for any length of time but shall be promptly wiped out.
我今天就指着上天下地对你们作证，你们必在过约但河后所占领的土地上迅速灭亡，决不会在那地长久生存，必全被消灭。
27 The LORD will scatter you among the nations, and there shall remain but a handful of you among the nations to which the LORD will lead you.
上主要将你们分散到万民之中，在上主领你们所到的外邦中，你们剩下的人，必为数不多。
28 There you shall serve gods fashioned by the hands of man out of wood and stone, gods which can neither see nor hear, neither eat nor smell.
在那里你们要事奉人手所制造的神，即各种看不见，听不见，不会吃，不能闻的木石神象。
29 Yet there too you shall seek the LORD, your God; and you shall indeed find him when you search after him with your whole heart and your whole soul.
你在那里必要寻求上主你的天主，只要你全心全灵寻求，你就可寻到他。
30 In your distress, when all these things shall have come upon you, you shall finally return to the LORD, your God, and heed his voice.
日后，当这些事都临于你，使你困恼时，你必回心归向上主你的天主，听从他的声音；
31 Since the LORD, your God, is a merciful God, he will not abandon and destroy you, nor forget the covenant which under oath he made with your fathers.
因为上主你的天主原是仁慈的天主，他不会舍弃你，不会毁灭你，也不会忘却他起誓与你祖先所立的盟约。
32 ＂Ask now of the days of old, before your time, ever since God created man upon the earth; ask from one end of the sky to the other: Did anything so great ever happen before? Was it ever heard of?
你且考察在你以前过去的世代，从天主在地上造了人以来，由天这边到天那边，是否有过象这样的大事，是否听过象这样的事？
33 Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking from the midst of fire, as you did, and live?
是否有一民族，如同你一样，听到了天主由火中说话的声音，还仍然活着？
34 4 Or did any god venture to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, with his strong hand and outstretched arm, and by great terrors, all of which the LORD, your God, did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
或者，是否有过一个神，以灾难、神迹、奇事、战争、强力的手、伸展的臂和可怕的威能，企图将某一民族由另一民族中领出来，如上主你们的天主在埃及于你们眼前，对你们所做的一切一样？
35 All this you were allowed to see that you might know the LORD is God and there is no other.
这一切只显示给你，是要你知道，只有上主是天主，除他以外再没有别的神。
36 Out of the heavens he let you hear his voice to discipline you; on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard him speaking out of the fire.
他由天上使你听到他的声音，是为教训你；在地上使你见到他的烈火，叫你听到他由火中发出的言语。
37 For love of your fathers he chose their descendants and personally led you out of Egypt by his great power,
他由于爱你的祖先，才拣选了他们的后裔，亲自以强力把你由埃及领出来，
38 driving out of your way nations greater and mightier than you, so as to bring you in and to make their land your heritage, as it is today.
由你面前赶走比你更大的民族，领你进入他们的国土，赐给你作为产业，就如今日一样。
39 This is why you must now know, and fix in your heart, that the LORD is God in the heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no other.
所以今日你该知道，且要牢记在心：天上地下，只有上主是天主，再没有别的神。
40 You must keep his statutes and commandments which I enjoin on you today, that you and your children after you may prosper, and that you may have long life on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you forever.＂
你应遵守他的法令和诫命，就是我今日所训示与你的，好使你和你的后代子孙得享幸福，在上主你的天主永久赐给你的土地内，能以久住。＂
41 Then Moses set apart three cities in the region east of the Jordan,
那时梅瑟在约但河东，向日出之地，划定了三座城，
42 that a homicide might take refuge there if he unwittingly killed his neighbor to whom he had previously borne no malice, and that he might save his life by fleeing to one of these cities:
使那素无仇恨而又无心杀死同胞的人，可逃到那里去避难；凡逃入其中的一座，就可获救。
43 Bezer in the desert, in the region of the plateau, for the Reubenites; Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan for the Manassehites.
为勒乌本人指定了位于旷野高原的贝责尔；为加得人指定了基肋阿得的辣摩特；为默纳协人指定了巴商的哥蓝。
44 This is the law which Moses set before the Israelites.

45 These are the ordinances, statutes and decrees which he proclaimed to them when they had come out of Egypt

Chapter 5
1 Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, ＂Hear, O Israel, the statutes and decrees which I proclaim in your hearing this day, that you may learn them and take care to observe them.

2 The LORD, our God, made a covenant with us at Horeb;

3 not with our fathers did he make this covenant, but with us, all of us who are alive here this day.
上主并不是与我们的祖先立了这约，而是与我们今日在这里尚生存的众人。
4 The LORD spoke with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.
上主在山上，从火中面对面地与你们谈过话。
5 Since you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain, I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to announce to you these words of the LORD:
那时我站在上主和你们中间，给你们传达上主的话，因为你们一见火便害了怕，没有上到山上去。上主说：
6‘, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.
＂我是上主，你的天主，我曾领你离开埃及地，那为奴之家，
7 You shall not have other gods besides me.
除我以外，你不可有别的神。
8 You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth;

9 1 you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishments for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation

11 ‘ou shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain.
你不可妄呼上主，你天主的名，因为上主决不放过妄呼他名的人。
12‘ake care to keep holy the sabbath day as the LORD, your God, commanded you.
当照上主，你的天主吩咐的，遵守安息日，奉为圣日。
13 Six days you may labor and do all your work;
六天你当劳作，做你一切工作；
14 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then, whether by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or ass or any of your beasts, or the alien who lives with you. Your male and female slave should rest as you do.
第七天是上主你天主的安息日，你和你的子女、仆婢、牛驴、你所有的牲畜，以及住在你城内的外方人，都不应做任何工作，好使你的仆婢能和你一样获得安息。
15 For remember that you too were once slaves in Egypt, and the LORD, your God, brought you from there with his strong hand and outstretched arm. That is why the LORD, your God, has commanded you to observe the sabbath day.
你应记得：你在埃及地也曾做过奴隶，上主你的天主以大能的手和伸展的臂，将你从那里领出来；为此，上主你的天主吩咐你守安息日。
16 ‘onor your father and your mother, as the LORD, your God, has commanded you, that you may have a long life and prosperity in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.
应照上主你的天主吩咐你的，孝敬你的父母，好使你能享高寿，并在上主你的天主赐给你的土地内，获享幸福。
17‘ou shall not kill.
不可杀人。
18 ‘ou shall not commit adultery.
不可奸淫。
19 ‘ou shall not steal.
不可偷盗。
20‘ou shall not bear dishonest witness against your neighbor.
不可作假见证害你的近人。
21 ‘ou shall not covet your neighbor's wife. ‘ou shall not desire your neighbor's house or field, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ass, nor anything that belongs to him.'
不可贪恋你近人的妻子；不可贪图你近人的房屋、田地、仆婢、牛驴，以及属于你近人的一切事物。＂
22 ＂These words, and nothing more, the LORD spoke with a loud voice to your entire assembly on the mountain from the midst of the fire and the dense cloud. He wrote them upon two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
这是上主在山上，由火中，由浓云黑暗里，大声对你们会众所说的话，再没有加添什么；并将这些话写在两块石版上，交给了我。
23 But when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was ablaze with fire, you came to me in the person of all your tribal heads and elders,
当山上火焰四射，你们听到由黑暗中发出来的声音时，你们各支派的首领和长老，都来到我跟前，
24 and said, ‘he LORD, our God, has indeed let us see his glory and his majesty! We have heard his voice from the midst of the fire and have found out today that a man can still live after God has spoken with him.
说：＂看，上主我们的天主，使我们看见了他的荣耀和伟大，我们也听见了他由火中发出的声音；今日我们见了天主与人说话，而人还能生存！
25 But why should we die now? Surely this great fire will consume us. If we hear the voice of the LORD, our God, any more, we shall die.
现在，我们为什么要冒死，为这大火所吞灭？如果我们继续听上主我们天主的声音，我们必死无疑。
26 For what mortal has heard, as we have, the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of fire, and survived?
因为凡有血肉的人，有谁如我们一样，听到永生的天主由火中说话的声音，而仍能生存呢？
27 Go closer, you, and hear all that the LORD, our God, will say, and then tell us what the LORD, our God, tells you; we will listen and obey.'
请你近前去，聆听上主我们的天主所说的一切；然后你将上主我们的天主对你所说的话，转告给我们；我们必听从，也必遵行。＂
28 ＂The LORD heard your words as you were speaking to me and said to me, ‘ have heard the words these people have spoken to you, which are all well said.
你们对我所说的话，上主听见了；遂对我说：＂我听见了这人民对你所说的话；他们所说的都对。
29 Would that they might always be of such a mind, to fear me and to keep all my commandments! Then they and their descendants would prosper forever.
惟愿他们常存这样的心思，敬畏我，遵守我的一切诫命，好使他们和他们的子孙永享幸福。
30 Go, tell them to return to their tents.
你去对他们说：你们回到你们的帐幕内去。
31 Then you wait here near me and I will give you all the commandments, the statutes and decrees you must teach them, that they may observe them in the land which I am giving them to possess.'
但是，你应留在我这里，我要将一切诫命、法令和规则训示你，你再教训他们，好叫他们在我赐给他们作为产业的地上遵行。＂
32 ＂Be careful, therefore, to do as the LORD, your God, has commanded you, not turning aside to the right or to the left,

33 but following exactly the way prescribed for you by the LORD, your God, that you may live and prosper, and may have long life in the land which you are to occupy.
在一切事上，只应履行上主你们的天主给你们指定的道路，好使你们在你们要去占领的地方，得以生存、兴盛、长寿。

1 [9-10] God does not punish us for another's sins, but because of the solidarity of human society, the good or evil deeds of one generation may make their effects felt even in later generations. Yet note how God's mercy allows the good effects of virtue to last much longer than the bad effects of vice: a thousand generations compared to three or four.
Chapter 6
1 ＂These then are the commandments, the statutes and decrees which the LORD, your God, has ordered that you be taught to observe in the land into which you are crossing for conquest,
以下是上主你们的天主吩咐我教给你们的诫命、法令和规则，叫你们在过河后去占领的地内遵行，
2 so that you and your son and your grandson may fear the LORD, your God, and keep, throughout the days of your lives, all his statutes and commandments which I enjoin on you, and thus have long life.
好使你和你的子子孙孙，终生日日敬畏上主你的天主，遵守我吩咐你的一切法令和诫命，使你获享长寿。
3 Hear then, Israel, and be careful to observe them, that you may grow and prosper the more, in keeping with the promise of the LORD, the God of your fathers, to give you a land flowing with milk and honey.
以色列！你要听，且谨守遵行，好使你在流奶流蜜的地方，获得幸福，人数增多，如上主你祖先的天主所许给你的。
4 1 ＂Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone!
以色列！你要听：上主我们的天主，是唯一的上主。
5 Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.
你当全心、全灵、全力，爱上主你的天主。
6 Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you today.
我今天吩咐你的这些话，你应牢记在心，
7 Drill them into your children. Speak of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest.
并将这些话灌输给你的子女。不论你住在家里，或在路上行走，或卧或立，常应讲论这些话；
8 2 Bind them at your wrist as a sign and let them be as a pendant on your forehead.
又该系在你的手上，当作标记；悬在额上，当作徽号；
9 Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
刻在你住宅的门框上和门扇上。
10 ＂When the LORD, your God, brings you into the land which he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that he would give you, a land with fine, large cities that you did not build,
上主你的天主，几时领你进入他向你的祖先亚巴郎、依撒格和雅各伯起誓，要赐给你的地方，那里有高大壮观的城邑，而不是你所建造的；
11 with houses full of goods of all sorts that you did not garner, with cisterns that you did not dig, with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant; and when, therefore, you eat your fill,
有充满各样宝物的住宅，而不是你装满的；有蓄水池，而不是你挖掘的；有葡萄园和橄榄树林，而不是你栽植的；──当你吃饱时，
12 take care not to forget the LORD, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.

13 3 The LORD, your God, shall you fear; him shall you serve, and by his name shall you swear.

14 You shall not follow other gods, such as those of the surrounding nations,

15 lest the wrath of the LORD, your God, flare up against you and he destroy you from the face of the land; for the LORD, your God, who is in your midst, is a jealous God.
因为在你中间的上主你的天主，是忌邪的天主，免得上主你的天主发怒，将你由地上消灭。
16 ＂You shall not put the LORD, your God, to the test, as you did at Massah.
你们不可试探上主你们的天主，如同在玛撒试探了他一样。
17 But keep the commandments of the LORD, your God, and the ordinances and statutes he has enjoined on you.
应谨慎遵守上主你们天主所吩咐你的诫命、教训和法令。
18 Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, that you may, according to his word, prosper, and may enter in and possess the good land which the LORD promised on oath to your fathers,
应做上主眼中视为正义和美善的事，使你能获得幸福，能去占领上主誓许与你祖先的那块肥美的土地，
19 thrusting all your enemies out of your way.
能由你面前驱逐你的一切仇敌，如上主所应许的。
20 ＂Later on, when your son asks you what these ordinances, statutes and decrees mean which the LORD, our God, has enjoined on you,
假使日后你的儿子问你说：＂上主我们的天主吩咐你们的这些教训、法令和规则，究竟有什么意思？＂
21 you shall say to your son, 'We were once slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with his strong hand
你应对你的儿子说：我们曾在埃及作过法郎的奴隶，上主却以大能的手将我们由埃及领了出来。
22 and wrought before our eyes signs and wonders, great and dire, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and his whole house.
上主在我们的眼前，对埃及，对法郎和他全家，行了轰轰烈烈的神迹和奇事；
23 He brought us from there to lead us into the land he promised on oath to our fathers, and to give it to us.
将我们从那里领出来，领我们进入他誓许给我们的祖先，要赐给我们的土地。
24 Therefore, the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes in fear of the LORD, our God, that we may always have as prosperous and happy a life as we have today;
那时，上主吩咐我们遵行这一切法令，为敬畏上主我们的天主，为使我们时时得享幸福，得保生命，就如今日一样。
25 and our justice before the LORD, our God, is to consist in carefully observing all these commandments he has enjoined on us.'
我们在上主我们的天主面前，照他所吩咐我们的，谨慎遵行这一切诫命，就是我们的义德。

Chapter 7
1 ＂When the LORD, your God, brings you into the land which you are to enter and occupy, and dislodges great nations before you--the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites: seven nations more numerous and powerful than you—
当上主你的天主领你进入你要去占领的地方，由你面前驱逐许多民族，即赫特人、基尔加士人、阿摩黎人、客纳罕人、培黎齐人、希威人和耶步斯人，那七个比你又多又强的民族时，
2 and when the LORD, your God, delivers them up to you and you defeat them, you shall doom them. Make no covenant with them and show them no mercy.
当上主你的天主将他们交给你，打败他们时，你应完全消灭他们，不可与他们立约，也不可恩待他们；
3 You shall not intermarry with them, neither giving your daughters to their sons nor taking their daughters for your sons.
不可与他们通婚，不可将你的女儿嫁给他们的儿子，也不可为你的儿子娶他们的女儿；
4 For they would turn your sons from following me to serving other gods, and then the wrath of the LORD would flare up against you and quickly destroy you.
因为他们必要使你们的子女远离我，而去事奉别的神，致使上主向你们大发忿怒，将你们迅速消灭。
5 1 ＂But this is how you must deal with them: Tear down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, chop down their sacred poles, and destroy their idols by fire.
你们应这样对待他们：拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的石碣，砍倒他们的神柱，烧毁他们的雕象。
6 For you are a people sacred to the LORD, your God; he has chosen you from all the nations on the face of the earth to be a people peculiarly his own.
因为你是属于上主你天主的圣民，上主你的天主由地面上所有的民族中，拣选了你作自己特属的人民。
7 It was not because you are the largest of all nations that the LORD set his heart on you and chose you, for you are really the smallest of all nations.

8 It was because the LORD loved you and because of his fidelity to the oath he had sworn to your fathers, that he brought you out with his strong hand from the place of slavery, and ransomed you from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
而是由于上主对你们的爱，并为履行他向你们祖先所起的誓，上主才以大能的手解救你们，将你们由为奴之家，由埃及王法郎的手中救出来。
9 Understand, then, that the LORD, your God, is God indeed, the faithful God who keeps his merciful covenant down to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and keep his commandments,
所以，你应知道，只有上主你的天主是天主，是对那爱他，遵守他诫命的人，守约施恩直到千代的忠信的天主；
10 but who repays with destruction the person who hates him; he does not dally with such a one, but makes him personally pay for it.
但对那恨他的人，他必当面报复，将他消灭；对恨他的人，他决不迟延，必当面报复。
11 You shall therefore carefully observe the commandments, the statutes and the decrees which I enjoin on you today.
所以你要谨慎遵行我今天吩咐你的诫命、法令和规则。
12 ＂As your reward for heeding these decrees and observing them carefully, the LORD, your God, will keep with you the merciful covenant which he promised on oath to your fathers.
如果你们听从这些法令，谨守遵行，上主你的天主必照他向你祖先起的誓，对你守约施恩。
13 He will love and bless and multiply you; he will bless the fruit of your womb and the produce of your soil, your grain and wine and oil, the issue of your herds and the young of your flocks, in the land which he swore to your fathers he would give you.
他必爱你，降福你，增加你的人数；在向你的祖先起誓许给你的地上，降福你身生的子女，你地内的出产、五谷、酒、油，以及牛羊的生产。
14 You will be blessed above all peoples; no man or woman among you shall be childless nor shall your livestock be barren.
万民中你是最有福的；在你内没有不育的男女，牲畜中没有不生殖的雌雄。
15 The LORD will remove all sickness from you; he will not afflict you with any of the malignant diseases that you know from Egypt, but will leave them with all your enemies.
上主必使一切疾病远离你；你所知道的埃及的各种恶疾，决不加在你身上，反而加在一切恨你的人身上。
16 ＂You shall consume all the nations which the LORD, your God, will deliver up to you. You are not to look on them with pity, lest you be ensnared into serving their gods.
凡上主你的天主交给你的民族，你都要消灭，不可怜视，也不可奉事他们的神，因为这是陷害你的罗网。
17 Perhaps you will say to yourselves, ‘These nations are greater than we. How can we dispossess them?'

18 But do not be afraid of them. Rather, call to mind what the LORD, your God, did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt:
你不要怕他们，只应记起上主你的天主对法郎和全埃及所做的事。
19 the great testings which your own eyes have seen, the signs and wonders, his strong hand and outstretched arm with which the LORD, your God, brought you out. The same also will he do to all the nations of whom you are now afraid.
你亲眼见了上主你的天主为救你所用的大灾难、神迹、奇事、大能的手和伸展的臂；上主你的天主也必同样对待你所怕的一切民族。
20 Moreover, the LORD, your God, will send hornets among them, until the survivors who have hidden from you are destroyed.
此外，上主你的天主必打发黄蜂来攻击他们，直到那些残存和由你面前隐藏起来的人完全消灭为止。
21 Therefore, do not be terrified by them, for the LORD, your God, who is in your midst, is a great and awesome God.
在他们面前，你不应畏惧，因为在你中间有上主你的天主，大而可畏的天主。
22 He will dislodge these nations before you little by little. You cannot exterminate them all at once, lest the wild beasts become too numerous for you.
上主你的天主必将这些民族由你面前渐渐驱逐；你不可将他们迅速消灭，免得野兽增多而于你不利。
23 The LORD, your God, will deliver them up to you and will rout them utterly until they are annihilated.
上主你的天主必将他们交于你，使他们大起恐慌，直到他们全被消灭。
24 He will deliver their kings into your hand, that you may make their names perish from under the heavens. No man will be able to stand up against you, till you have put an end to them.
他必将他们的君王交在你手中，你必使他们的名由天下消灭；没有一人能对抗你，直到你将他们完全消灭。
25 The images of their gods you shall destroy by fire. Do not covet the silver or gold on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be ensnared by it; for it is an abomination to the LORD, your God.
你应将他们的神象，投在火中烧掉；不应贪图神象上的金银，而留为己有，免得陷于罗网，因为这于上主你的天主是可憎之物。
26 You shall not bring any abominable thing into your house, lest you be doomed with it; loathe and abhor it utterly as a thing that is doomed.

Chapter 8
1 ＂Be careful to observe all the commandments I enjoin on you today, that you may live and increase, and may enter in and possess the land which the LORD promised on oath to your fathers.
我今日吩咐你的一切诫命，你们应谨守遵行，好使你们生存，人数增多，能去占领上主向你们的祖先所誓许的地方。
2 Remember how for forty years now the LORD, your God, has directed all your journeying in the desert, so as to test you by affliction and find out whether or not it was your intention to keep his commandments.
你当记念上主你的天主使你这四十年在旷野中所走的路程，是为磨难你，试探你，愿知道你的心怀，是否愿遵守他的诫命。
3 1 He therefore let you be afflicted with hunger, and then fed you with manna, a food unknown to you and your fathers, in order to show you that not by bread alone does man live, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the LORD.
他磨难了你，使你感到饥饿，却以你和你祖先所不认识的＂玛纳，＂养育了你，叫你知道人生活不但靠食物，而且也靠上主口中所发的一切言语生活。
4 The clothing did not fall from you in tatters, nor did your feet swell these forty years.
这四十年来，你身上的衣服没有穿破，你的脚也没有肿。
5 So you must realize that the LORD, your God, disciplines you even as a man disciplines his son.
为此，你要明了：上主你的天主管教你，如人管教自己的儿子一样；
6 ＂Therefore, keep the commandments of the LORD, your God, by walking in his ways and fearing him.
所以你当谨守上主你天主的诫命，遵行他的道路，敬畏他。
7 For the LORD, your God, is bringing you into a good country, a land with streams of water, with springs and fountains welling up in the hills and valleys,
因为上主你的天主快要领你进入肥美的土地，那里有溪流，有泉水，有深渊之水由谷中和山中流出；
8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, of olive trees and of honey,
那地出产小麦、大麦、葡萄、无花果和石榴；那地出产橄榄、油和蜂蜜；
9 a land where you can eat bread without stint and where you will lack nothing, a land whose stones contain iron and in whose hills you can mine copper.
在那地你决不缺粮吃，在那里你将一无所缺；那地方的石头是铁，由山中可以采铜。
10 But when you have eaten your fill, you must bless the LORD, your God, for the good country he has given you.
几时你吃饱了，应感谢上主你的天主，因为是他赐给你这样肥美的土地。
11 Be careful not to forget the LORD, your God, by neglecting his commandments and decrees and statutes which I enjoin on you today:
你应小心，别忘记上主你的天主，而不遵守我今天吩咐你的诫命、规则和法令。
12 lest, when you have eaten your fill, and have built fine houses and lived in them,
当你吃饱了，建造了华美房屋居住，
13 and have increased your herds and flocks, your silver and gold, and all your property,
牛群羊群加多，金银增加，你所有的一切都增加了，
14 you then become haughty of heart and unmindful of the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery;
你要小心，不要心高气傲，以致忘记了由埃及地，由为奴之家，领你出来的上主你的天主，
15 who guided you through the vast and terrible desert with its saraph serpents and scorpions, its parched and waterless ground; who brought forth water for you from the flinty rock
是他领你经过了辽阔可怖，有火蛇蝎子的旷野，经过了干旱无水之地；是他使水由坚硬的盘石中为你流出，
16 and fed you in the desert with manna, a food unknown to your fathers, that he might afflict you and test you, but also make you prosperous in the end.
是他在旷野内，以你祖先不认识的＂玛纳＂养育了你；他这样磨难你，试探你，终究是为使你获得幸福。
17 Otherwise, you might say to yourselves, ‘It is my own power and the strength of my own hand that has obtained for me this wealth.'
你心里不要想：＂这是我的力量，我手臂的能力，给我造就了这样的财富。＂
18 Remember then, it is the LORD, your God, who gives you the power to acquire wealth, by fulfilling, as he has now done, the covenant which he swore to your fathers.
你应记得上主你的天主，因为是他赐给你得财富的能力，为实践他对你祖先起誓订立的盟约，就如今日一样。
19 But if you forget the LORD, your God, and follow other gods, serving and worshiping them, I forewarn you this day that you will perish utterly.
如果你真忘记了上主你的天主，而随从别的神，奉事敬拜他们，我今日对你们作证：你们必要灭亡，
20 Like the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so shall you too perish for not heeding the voice of the LORD, your God.
上主怎样由你们面前毁灭了那些民族，你们也要怎样遭受毁灭，因为你们没有听从上主你们天主的声音。

Chapter 9
1 ＂Hear, O Israel! You are now about to cross the Jordan to enter in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than yourselves, having large cities fortified to the sky,
以色列，请听！你今天就要过约但河，去征服比你强大的民族，广大的城邑和高可摩天的要塞。
2 the Anakim, a people great and tall. You know of them and have heard it said of them, 'Who can stand up against the Anakim?'
那高大的民族，即阿纳克的子孙，是你所知道的，论到他们，你曾听说过：＂谁能抵抗阿纳克的子孙？＂
3 Understand, then, today that it is the LORD, your God, who will cross over before you as a consuming fire; he it is who will reduce them to nothing and subdue them before you, so that you can drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the LORD promised you.
但你今天应该知道，上主你的天主要如吞灭的火，亲自走在你前面，是他要消灭他们，是他要他们在你面前屈服；这样你才能将他们驱逐，使他们迅速毁灭，一如上主对你所说的。
4 After the LORD, your God, has thrust them out of your way, do not say to yourselves, 'It is because of my merits that the LORD has brought me in to possess this land'; for it is really because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out before you.
当上主你的天主将他们由你面前驱逐以后，你心中不要想：上主领我来占领这地方，是因了我的义德。其实是因这些民族的罪恶，上主才将他们由你面前赶走。
5 No, it is not because of your merits or the integrity of your heart that you are going in to take possession of their land; but the LORD, your God, is driving these nations out before you on account of their wickedness and in order to keep the promise which he made on oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
你能去占领他们的土地，并不是因了你的义德，也不是因了你心地正直，而实是因这些民族的罪恶，上主你的天主才将他们由你面前赶走；同时也是为实践上主向你祖先亚巴郎、依撒格和雅各伯起誓所许的诺言。
6 Understand this, therefore: it is not because of your merits that the LORD, your God, is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
由此可知，上主你的天主，把这肥美的土地赐给你作产业，并不是因了你的义德，因为你原是一个执拗的民族。
7 ＂Bear in mind and do not forget how you angered the LORD, your God, in the desert. From the day you left the land of Egypt until you arrived in this place, you have been rebellious toward the LORD.
你当记念不忘：你在旷野里怎样激怒了上主你的天主。自从你由埃及地出来的那天起，直到你们来到这地方，你们常是反抗上主。
8 At Horeb you so provoked the LORD that he was angry enough to destroy you,
你们在曷勒布激怒了上主，致使上主对你们发怒，几乎将你们消灭。
9 when I had gone up the mountain to receive the stone tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with you. Meanwhile I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights without eating or drinking,
那时我上了山，要接受石版，就是上主与你们结约的石版，我在山上住了四十天四十夜，不吃不喝；
10 till the LORD gave me the two tablets of stone inscribed, by God's own finger, with a copy of all the words that the LORD spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.
上主交给了我两块天主用手指写上字的石版。上面所写的，是上主于集会之日，在山上由火中对你们所说的一切话。
11 Then, at the end of the forty days and forty nights, when the LORD had given me the two stone tablets of the covenant,
过了四十天四十夜，天主交给了我那两块石版、即约版，
12 he said to me, ‘Go down from here now, quickly, for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have become depraved; they have already turned aside from the way I pointed out to them and have made for themselves a molten idol.
然后对我说：＂起来，赶快下去，因为你由埃及领出来的人民已败坏了，他们很快就离弃了我给他们指定的道路，为自己铸造了偶象。＂
13 I have seen now how stiff-necked this people is,' the LORD said to me.
上主又对我说：＂我看这民族，确是一个执拗的民族。
14 ‘Let me be, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under the heavens. I will then make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.'
你且由着我罢！我要消灭他们，由天下抹去他们的名字；我要使你成为一个比他们更大更多的民族。＂
15 ＂When I had come down again from the blazing, fiery mountain, with the two tablets of the covenant in both my hands,
我于是转身，从冒火的山上下来，手中拿着两块约版。
16 I saw how you had sinned against the LORD, your God: you had already turned aside from the way which the LORD had pointed out to you by making for yourselves a molten calf!
我一看见你们铸造了牛犊，犯罪背叛了上主你们的天主，迅速离弃了上主给你们指定的道路，
17 Raising the two tablets with both hands I threw them from me and broke them before your eyes.
我就把那两块石版，由我手中扔下去，在你们眼前摔得粉碎。
18 Then, as before, I lay prostrate before the LORD for forty days and forty nights without eating or drinking, because of all the sin you had committed in the sight of the LORD and the evil you had done to provoke him.
为了你们所犯的一切罪过，作了上主眼中视为恶的事，使他恼怒，我就象上次一样，俯伏在上主面前，四十天四十夜不吃不喝。
19 For I dreaded the fierce anger of the LORD against you: his wrath would destroy you. Yet once again the LORD listened to me.
因为上主对你们大发忿怒，要消灭你们，我实在恐惧不安；但上主这次又俯听了我。
20 With Aaron, too, the LORD was deeply angry, and would have killed him had I not prayed for him also at that time.
同样，上主对亚郎也大发忿怒，要消灭他；那时我也为亚郎祈求过。
21 Then, taking the calf, the sinful object you had made, and fusing it with fire, I ground it down to powder as fine as dust, which I threw into the wadi that went down the mountainside.
我把你们犯罪所铸造的牛犊，放在火里烧了；然后捣碎，磨成细末，将细末拋在由山上流下来的溪水内。
22 ＂At Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah likewise, you provoked the LORD to anger.
以后，你们在塔贝辣、玛撒、克贝洛特阿塔瓦又激怒了上主。
23 And when he sent you up from Kadesh-barnea to take possession of the land he was giving you, you rebelled against this command of the LORD, your God, and would not trust or obey him.
当上主命你们由卡德士巴尔乃亚起程，说：＂你们上去占领我赐给你们的地方。＂你们又违背了上主你们天主的命令，没有信赖他，也没有听他的命。
24 Ever since I have known you, you have been rebels against the LORD.
自从我认识你们那天起，你们常是背叛上主。
25 ＂Those forty days, then, and forty nights, I lay prostrate before the LORD, because he had threatened to destroy you.
因为上主决意要消灭你们，我就四十天四十夜俯伏在上主面前，
26 This was my prayer to him: O Lord GOD, destroy not your people, the heritage which your majesty has ransomed and brought out of Egypt with your strong hand.
哀求上主说：吾主上主！不要消灭你的百姓，你的产业，因为是你以大能救出来的，是你以强力的手由埃及领出来的，
27 Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Look not upon the stubbornness of this people nor upon their wickedness and sin,
求你记念你的仆人亚巴郎、依撒格和雅各伯，别看这民族的顽固、邪恶和罪过，
28 lest the people from whose land you have brought us say, ‘The LORD was not able to bring them into the land he promised them'; or ‘Out of hatred for them, he brought them out to slay them in the desert.'
免得你领我们出来的那地方的人说：这是由于上主不能领他们进入所许给他们的地方，又由于恨他们才领他们出来，叫他们死在旷野。
29 They are, after all, your people and your heritage, whom you have brought out by your great power and with your outstretched arm.
他们毕竟是你的百姓，是你的产业，是你以大能和伸开的手臂领出来的。
Chapter 10
1 ＂At that time the LORD said to me, 'Cut two tablets of stone like the former; then come up the mountain to me. Also make an ark of wood.
那时上主对我说：＂你再凿两块石版，与先前的一样，然后上山到我跟前来；还要做一个木柜。
2 I will write upon the tablets the commandments that were on the former tablets that you broke, and you shall place them in the ark.'
我要把你先前摔碎的那两块版上的话，写在这两块版上。你要将这两块石版放在柜里。＂
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the former, and went up the mountain carrying the two tablets.
我于是做了一个皂荚木柜，凿了两块与先前一样的石版，手里拿着这两块石版上山去了。
4 The LORD then wrote on them, as he had written before, the ten commandments which he spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. After the LORD had given them to me,
上主将先前所写的，即在集会之日，在山上由火中对你们所说的那十句话，写在这两块版上，交给了我。
5 I turned and came down the mountain, and placed the tablets in the ark I had made. There they have remained, in keeping with the command the LORD gave me.
我遂转身下山，照上主吩咐我的，将版放在我做的柜内，存在那里。
6 (The Israelites set out from Beeroth Bene-jaakan for Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, his son Eleazar succeeding him in the priestly office.
以色列子民由贝洛特贝乃雅干起程，到了摩色辣，亚郎在那里死了，也埋在那里；他的儿子厄肋阿匝尔继他做了大司祭。
7 From there they set out for Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah for Jotbathah, a region where there is water in the wadies.)
又从那里起程，到了古德哥达，又从古德哥达到了多溪水之地约特巴达。
8 ＂At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to be in attendance before the LORD and minister to him, and to give blessings in his name, as they have done to this day.
那时，上主选拔了肋未支派，叫他们抬上主的约柜，侍立在上主面前事奉他，并奉他的名降福，直到今日。
9 For this reason, Levi has no share in the heritage with his brothers; the LORD himself is his heritage, as the LORD, your God, has told him.
为此，肋未人同自己的兄弟没有分得产业，因为照上主你的天主对他们所说的：上主自己是他们的产业。
10 ＂After I had spent these other forty days and forty nights on the mountain, and the LORD had once again heard me and decided not to destroy you,
我如先前一样，在山上逗留了四十天四十夜；上主这一次又俯听了我，放弃了消灭你的意思。
11 he said to me,‘Go now and set out at the head of your people, that they may enter in and occupy the land which I swore to their fathers I would give them.'
上主且对我说：＂起来，在人民前面领路，叫他们去占领我对他们祖先誓许要赐给他们的地方。＂
12 ＂And now, Israel, what does the LORD, your God, ask of you but to fear the LORD, your God, and follow his ways exactly, to love and serve the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul,
以色列！现今上主你的天主向你要求什么？是要求你敬畏上主你的天主，履行他的一切道路，爱他，全心全灵事奉上主你的天主，
13 to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD which I enjoin on you today for your own good?
遵守我今天吩咐你的天主的诫命和法令，好使你能获得幸福。
14 1 Think! The heavens, even the highest heavens, belong to the LORD, your God, as well as the earth and everything on it.
看天与天上的天，地和地上的一切，都属于上主你的天主；
15 Yet in his love for your fathers the LORD was so attached to them as to choose you, their descendants, in preference to all other peoples, as indeed he has now done.
但上主只喜欢了你的祖先，钟爱他们，由万民中拣选了他们的后裔，就是你们，正如你们今日所见的一样。
16 2 Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and be no longer stiff-necked.
为此，你们要心受割损，不要再执拗，
17 For the LORD, your God, is the God of gods, the LORD of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who has no favorites, accepts no bribes;
因为上主你们的天主是万神之神，万主之主，伟大、有力、可畏的天主，是不顾情面，不受贿赂，
18 who executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and befriends the alien, feeding and clothing him.
为孤儿、寡妇主持正义，友爱外方人，供给他们食粮和衣服的天主。
19 So you too must befriend the alien, for you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt.
为此，你们也应友爱外方人，因为你们在埃及也曾做过外方人。
20 The LORD, your God, shall you fear, and him shall you serve; hold fast to him and swear by his name.
你应敬畏上主你的天主，事奉依赖他，奉他的名起誓。
21 He is your glory, he, your God, who has done for you those great and terrible things which your own eyes have seen.
他是你的光荣，是你的天主，是他为你做了你亲眼所见的奇异可畏的事。
22 Your ancestors went down to Egypt seventy strong, and now the LORD, your God, has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky.
你的祖先下到埃及时，总共不过七十人，现在上主你的天主却使你多得有如天上的繁星。

Chapter 11
1 ＂Love the LORD, your God, therefore, and always heed his charge: his statutes, decrees and commandments.

2 It is not your children, who have not known it from experience, but you yourselves who must now understand the discipline of the LORD, your God; his majesty, his strong hand and outstretched arm;
今天你们应知道：你们的子孙并没有见过，也没有经历过上主你们天主的惩戒、伟大强力的手和伸展的臂，
3 the signs and deeds he wrought among the Egyptians, on Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and on all his land;
以及他在埃及对埃及王法郎及其全国所行的神迹和奇事；
4 what he did to the Egyptian army and to their horses and chariots, engulfing them in the water of the Red Sea as they pursued you, and bringing ruin upon them even to this day;
他如何对待了埃及的军队、战马和车辆；当他们追赶你们时，上主怎样使红海的水淹没了他们，将他们消灭，直到今日；
5 what he did for you in the desert until you arrived in this place;
并且在旷野里给你们作了什么，直到你们来到此地；
6 and what he did to the Reubenites Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, when the ground opened its mouth and swallowed them up out of the midst of Israel, with their families and tents and every living thing that belonged to them.
他怎样对待了勒乌本的后裔厄里雅布的儿子达堂和阿彼兰，地怎样裂开了口，在全以色列中间吞没了他们同他们的眷属，帐棚以及属他们的一切；
7 With your own eyes you have seen all these great deeds that the LORD has done.
而且你们亲眼见过上主所做的这一切伟大作为。
8 Keep all the commandments, then, which I enjoin on you today, that you may be strong enough to enter in and take possession of the land into which you are crossing,
所以你们应该遵守我今日吩咐你们的一切诫命，好能有力量去占领你们过河要去占领的地方，
9 and that you may have long life on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers he would give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
并在上主向你们祖先誓许要给他们和他们后裔的地方，即流奶流蜜的地方，得享长寿。
10 ＂For the land which you are to enter and occupy is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you would sow your seed and then water it by hand, as in a vegetable garden.
因为你要去占领的地方，不象你们出来的埃及地，在那里你撒了种，还要用脚灌溉，象灌溉菜园一样；
11 No, the land into which you are crossing for conquest is a land of hills and valleys that drinks in rain from the heavens,
但你们过河去占领的地方，却是一个有山有谷，有天上的雨水所滋润的地方，
12 a land which the LORD, your God, looks after; his eyes are upon it continually from the beginning of the year to the end.
是上主你的天主自己照管的地方，是上主你的天主，自年首至年尾，时常注目眷视的地方。
13 1 If, then, you truly heed my commandments which I enjoin on you today, loving and serving the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul,
如果你们真听从我今日吩咐你们的诫命，爱上主你们的天主，全心全灵事奉他，
14 2 I will give the seasonal rain to your land, the early rain and the late rain, that you may have your grain, wine and oil to gather in;
他必按时给你们的土地降下时雨，秋雨和春雨；必使你丰收五谷、新酒和新油；
15 and I will bring forth grass in your fields for your animals. Thus you may eat your fill.
也必使田野给你的牲畜生出青草；如此你必能吃饱。
16 But be careful lest your heart be so lured away that you serve other gods and worship them.
你们应谨慎，免得你们的心受迷惑，离弃正道，去事奉敬拜其它的神，
17 For then the wrath of the LORD will flare up against you and he will close up the heavens, so that no rain will fall, and the soil will not yield its crops, and you will soon perish from the good land he is giving you.
叫上主对你们发怒，使苍天封闭，雨不下降，地不生产，你们必由上主赐给你们的肥美土地上迅速灭亡。
18 ＂Therefore, take these words of mine into your heart and soul. Bind them at your wrist as a sign, and let them be a pendant on your forehead.
你们应将我这些话铭刻在你们的心灵上，系在你们的手上，当作标记；悬在你们的额上，当作徽号。
19 Teach them to your children, speaking of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest.
应将这些话教给你们的子孙，不论住在家里，或在路上行走，或卧或立，不断地讲述；
20 And write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,
还应刻在你房屋的门框和门扇上，
21 so that, as long as the heavens are above the earth, you and your children may live on in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers he would give them.
好使你们和你们子孙的岁月，在上主誓许给你们祖先的土地上，如天复地之久长。
22 ＂For if you are careful to observe all these commandments I enjoin on you, loving the LORD, your God, and following his ways exactly, and holding fast to him,
如果你们谨慎遵守我吩咐你们遵行的这一切诫命，爱上主你们的天主，履行他的一切道路．一心依赖他，
23 the LORD will drive all these nations out of your way, and you will dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
上主必由你们面前将这一切民族驱逐，使你们能征服比你们更强大的民族。
24 3 Every place where you set foot shall be yours: from the desert and from Lebanon, from the Euphrates River to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.
凡你们的脚掌所踏之地，都必成为你们的；由旷野直到黎巴嫩，由大河，即幼发拉的河直到西海，是你们的疆界。
25 None shall stand up against you; the LORD, your God, will spread the fear and dread of you through any land where you set foot, as he promised you.
没有人能对抗你们，上主你们的天主必照他对你们所许的，将害怕和畏惧你们的心情，散布在你们所要踏进的地面。
26 ＂I set before you here, this day, a blessing and a curse:
你看，我今天将降福和诅咒，摆在你们面前：
27 a blessing for obeying the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I enjoin on you today;
如果你们听从上主你们天主的诫命，就是我今天吩咐你们的，你们必蒙降福；
28 a curse if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD, your God, but turn aside from the way I ordain for you today, to follow other gods, whom you have not known.
如果你们不听从上主你们天主的诫命，离弃我今天吩咐你们的道路，去跟随你们素不相识的其它神祇，必遭诅咒。
29 4 When the LORD, your God, brings you into the land which you are to enter and occupy, then you shall pronounce the blessing on Mount Gerizim, the curse on Mount Ebal.
几时上主你的天主领你进入你要去占领的地方，你应在革黎斤山上宣布祝福，在厄巴耳山上宣布诅咒。
30 (Are they not beyond the Jordan, on the other side of the western road in the country of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah, opposite the Gilgal beside the terebinth of Moreh?)
这两座位于约但河西，日落之处，在居于阿辣巴荒野的客纳罕人的境内，与基耳加耳相对，靠近摩勒橡树。
31 For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and occupy the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you. When, therefore, you take possession of it and settle there,
你们就快要过约但河，去占领上主你们的天主赐给你们的土地。当你们占, 领了那地，居住在那里时，
32 be careful to observe all the statutes and decrees that I set before you today.
你们应谨慎遵行我今天在你们面前所颁布的一切法令和规则。

Chapter 12
1 ＂These are the statutes and decrees which you must be careful to observe in the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to occupy, as long as you live on its soil.
这是你们在上主你祖先的天主赐给你作产业的地上，当遵守奉行的法令和规则；你们几时生活在那地，就应日日遵守。
2 Destroy without fail every place on the high mountains, on the hills, and under every leafy tree where the nations you are to dispossess worship their gods.
凡你们去征服的民族供奉神祇的地方，无论在高山上，或在丘陵上，或在任何绿树下，都应加以破坏：
3 Tear down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, destroy by fire their sacred poles, and shatter the idols of their gods, that you may stamp out the remembrance of them in any such place.
拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的石碣，烧毁他们的神柱，砍倒他们神祇的雕象，将他们的名字由那地方完全消除。
4 ＂That is not how you are to worship the LORD, your God.
你们不可象他们那样崇拜上主你们的天主。
5 Instead, you shall resort to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses out of all your tribes and designates as his dwelling
上主你们的天主，将由你们各支派中选择一个地方，为立自己的名号，为做自己的住所，你们只可到那里去寻求他，
6 and there you shall bring your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, your votive and freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and flocks.
在那里奉献你们的全燔祭、祭献、什一之物、献仪、还愿祭、自愿祭，以及首生的牛羊；
7 There, too, before the LORD, your God, you and your families shall eat and make merry over all your undertakings, because the LORD, your God, has blessed you.
在那里你们和你们的家属，应在上主你们的天主面前宴会欢乐，因为上主你们的天主降福了你们的一切事业。
8 You shall not do as we are now doing; here, everyone does what seems right to himself,
你们不要照我们今日在这里所行的，各行其是，
9 since you have not yet reached your resting place, the heritage which the LORD, your God, will give you.
因为你们至今还没有到安居之地，还没有到上主你的天主赐给你为业的地方。
10 But after you have crossed the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, when he has given you rest from all your enemies round about and you live there in security,
但是，当你们过了约但河，住在上主你们的天主赐给你们为业的地方，脱免了四周的仇敌，安居乐业时，
11 then to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place for his name you shall bring all the offerings I command you: your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, and every special offering you have vowed to the LORD.
你们应在上主你们的天主所选定为立自己名号的地方，奉献我所吩咐的一切：即你们的全燔祭、献祭、什一之物、献仪，以及一切向上主许愿应献的礼品；
12 You shall make merry before the LORD, your God, with your sons and daughters, your male and female slaves, as well as with the Levite who belongs to your community but has no share of his own in your heritage.
你们和你们的儿女、仆婢，以及在你们城镇里的肋未人，都应在上主你们的天主面前一同欢乐，因为肋未人没有在你们中分得产业。
13 Take care not to offer up your holocausts in any place you fancy,
你应小心，不可在你所见的任何地方奉献你的全燔祭；
14 but offer them up in the place which the LORD chooses from among your tribes; there you shall make whatever offerings I enjoin upon you.
只可在上主由你一支派中所选定的地方，奉献你的全燔祭，行我所规定的一切。
15 ＂However, in any of your communities you may slaughter and eat to your heart's desire as much meat as the LORD, your God, has blessed you with; and the unclean as well as the clean may eat it, as they do the gazelle or the deer.
但是你可在各城镇内，依照上主你的天主所赐与你的降福，随意杀牲食肉；不洁和洁净的，人都可以吃，如吃羚羊和鹿肉一样；
16 Only, you shall not partake of the blood, but must pour it out on the ground like water.
只有血，你们不可以吃，你应将血和水一样泼在地上。
17 Moreover, you shall not, in your own communities, partake of your tithe of grain or wine or oil, of the first-born of your herd or flock, of any offering you have vowed, of your freewill offerings, or of your personal contributions.
你所收的五谷、酒、油的十分之一，你的头胎牛羊，你许愿献的供物，或自愿献的供物以及你手中的献仪，都不可在你的城镇内吃，
18 These you must eat before the LORD, your God, in the place he chooses, along with your son and daughter, your male and female slave, and the Levite who belongs to your community; and there, before the LORD, you shall make merry over all your undertakings.
只可在上主你的天主面前，在上主你的天主选定的地方，你和你的儿女、仆婢，以及在你城镇内的肋未人一起吃；在上主你的天主面前，为了你的一切事业而欢乐。
19 Take care, also, that you do not neglect the Levite as long as you live in the land.
你要留意，在你的地域内，永不可忘记肋未人。
20 1 ＂After the LORD, your God, has enlarged your territory, as he promised you, when you wish meat for food, you may eat it at will, to your heart's desire;
当上主你的天主，照他对你所许的，扩展了你的疆域时，你若说：＂我想吃肉，＂你既然想肉吃，你可以任意吃肉。
21 and if the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far, you may slaughter in the manner I have told you any of your herd or flock that the LORD has given you, and eat it to your heart's desire in your own community.
若上主你的天主选定建立自己名号的地方离你太远，你可照我吩咐你的，宰杀上主赐给你的牛羊，在你的城镇内任意吃，
22 You may eat it as you would the gazelle or the deer: the unclean and the clean eating it alike.
全如吃羚羊和鹿肉一样；不洁和洁净的，人都可以一起吃。
23 But make sure that you do not partake of the blood; for blood is life, and you shall not consume this seat of life with the flesh.
但应记住：不可吃血，因为血是生命，你不可将生命与肉一起吃。
24 Do not partake of the blood, therefore, but pour it out on the ground like water.
你不可吃血，应将血和水一样泼在地上。
25 Abstain from it, that you and your children after you may prosper for doing what is right in the sight of the LORD.
你不要吃血，好使你和你的后代子孙能享幸福，因为你行了上主眼中视为正直的事。
26 However, any sacred gifts or votive offerings that you may have, you shall bring with you to the place which the LORD chooses,
至于你所献的圣物和许愿的祭品，应带到上主所拣选的地方去；
27 and there you must offer both the flesh and the blood of your holocausts on the altar of the LORD, your God; of your other sacrifices the blood indeed must be poured out against the altar of the LORD, your God, but their flesh may be eaten.
将你的全燔祭、肉和血全献在上主你的天主的祭坛上；至于其它的祭献，应将血倒在上主你的天主的祭坛上肉可以吃。
28 Be careful to heed all these commandments I enjoin on you, that you and your descendants may always prosper for doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD, your God.
你应谨慎听从我吩咐你的这一切事，好使你和你的后代子孙永远享福，因为你行了上主你的天主眼中视为善良和正直的事。
29 ＂When the LORD, your God, removes the nations from your way as you advance to dispossess them, be on your guard! Otherwise, once they have been wiped out before you and you have replaced them and are settled in their land,
当上主你的天主，将你所要进占之地的民族，由你面前铲除，而你占领了他们的地方，住在那里的时候，
30 you will be lured into following them. Do not inquire regarding their gods,‘How did these nations worship their gods? I, too, would do the same.'
你应小心，不要在他们由你面前消灭以后，你自己反受迷惑，去仿效他们；也不要探究他们的神说：＂这些民族怎样事奉了他们的神，我也要怎样去做。＂
31 You shall not thus worship the LORD, your God, because they offered to their gods every abomination that the LORD detests, even burning their sons and daughters to their gods.
对上主你的天主，你不可这样做，因为凡上主所憎恨的可恶之事，他们对自己的神都做了；甚至为自己的神，用火焚烧了自己的子女。

Chapter 13
1 ＂Every command that I enjoin on you, you shall be careful to observe, neither adding to it nor subtracting from it.

2 1 ＂If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer who promises you a sign or wonder,
若你们中出现了一位先知或作梦的人，给你提供一种神迹或奇事，
3 urging you to follow other gods, whom you have not known, and to serve them: even though the sign or wonder he has foretold you comes to pass,
而他所说的神迹和奇事实现了，以致向你说：＂让我们去随从事奉其它的神罢！＂而那神是你素不相识的；
4 pay no attention to the words of that prophet or that dreamer; for the LORD, your God, is testing you to learn whether you really love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
你不要听从这先知或作梦者的话，因为上主你们的天主有意试探你们，愿意知道你们是否全心全灵真爱上主你们的天主。
5 The LORD, your God, shall you follow, and him shall you fear; his commandment shall you observe, and his voice shall you heed, serving him and holding fast to him alone.
你们只应跟随上主你们的天主，只应敬畏他，遵守他的诫命，听从他的话，事奉他。依靠他。
6 But that prophet or that dreamer shall be put to death, because, in order to lead you astray from the way which the LORD, your God, has directed you to take, he has preached apostasy from the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and ransomed you from that place of slavery. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.
至于这先知或作梦的人，应处死刑，因为他出言背叛了领你出埃及地，由奴隶之家赎出你来的上主你们的天主，要你离弃上主你的天主命你当行的道路：如此你由你中间铲除了邪恶。
7 ＂If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or your intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known,
如果你的兄弟，你父亲或母亲的儿子，或你的儿女，或你的爱妻，或你视如性命的朋友，暗中引诱你说：＂让我们去事奉其它的神罢！＂而那神是你和你的祖先素不相识的，
8 gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other:
是你四周，离你或近或远，由地极这边到地极那边的各民族所敬拜的神；
9 do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him,
你不可对他表示同意，不可听从他，也不可怜视他，顾惜他，袒护他；
10 but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you.
务要将他杀死，并且你应先动手，然后全体人民动手打死他。
11 You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.
你应用石头砸死他，因为他图谋使你离弃领你出埃及地，出奴隶之家的上主你的天主。
12 And all Israel, hearing of it, shall fear and never again do such evil as this in your midst.
这样全以色列人听了必然害怕，在你中间不致做出这样邪恶的事。
13 ＂If, in any of the cities which the LORD, your God, gives you to dwell in, you hear it said
如果你听说，在上主你的天主赐给你居住的一座城内，
14 that certain scoundrels have sprung up among you and have led astray the inhabitants of their city to serve other gods whom you have not known,
由你中间出来了一些坏人，勾引本城的居民说：＂让我们去事奉其它的神罢！＂而那神是你们素不相识的；
15 you must inquire carefully into the matter and investigate it thoroughly. If you find that it is true and an established fact that this abomination has been committed in your midst,
你就该调查、探寻、仔细访问；如果真有其事，在你中间真发生了这样可恶的事，
16 you shall put the inhabitants of that city to the sword, dooming the city and all life that is in it, even its cattle, to the sword.
你该用利剑杀尽这城的居民，完全破坏此城和城中所有的一切，连城中的牲畜也用剑杀尽，
17 Having heaped up all its spoils in the middle of its square, you shall burn the city with all its spoils as a whole burnt offering to the LORD, your God. Let it be a heap of ruins forever, never to be rebuilt.
并把由城中掠夺的一切财物堆积在广场上，将城和所掠夺的一切财物放火焚烧，全献给上主你的天主，使那城永远成为废墟，再不得重建。
18 You shall not retain anything that is doomed, that the blazing wrath of the LORD may die down and he may show you mercy and in his mercy for you may multiply you as he promised your fathers on oath;
凡应毁灭之物，一件也不可留在你手中，好使上主撤回他的盛怒，对你施恩，怜恤你，照他对你祖先所誓许的，使你繁昌，
19 because you have heeded the voice of the LORD, your God, keeping all his commandments which I enjoin on you today, doing what is right in his sight.
只要你听从上主你的天主的话，遵守我今天所吩咐你的一切诫命，实行上主你的天主眼中视为正直的事。

Chapter 14

3 ＂You shall not eat any abominable thing.
凡是可憎恶之物，你不可吃。
4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,
你们可吃的走兽如下：牛、绵羊、山羊、
5 1 the red deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the ibex, the addax, the oryx, and the mountain sheep.
鹿、羚羊、黈鹿、野山羊、臆羚、野牛和野羊。
6 Any animal that has hoofs you may eat, provided it is cloven-footed and chews the cud.
走兽中，凡有偶蹄分趾而又反刍的走兽，你们都可以吃。
7 But you shall not eat any of the following that only chew the cud or only have cloven hoofs: the camel, the hare and the rock badger, which indeed chew the cud, but do not have hoofs and are therefore unclean for you;
但是在反刍或有偶蹄分趾的走兽中，你们不可吃的：有骆驼、兔子和岩狸，因为它们虽反刍，蹄却不分趾，对你们仍是不洁的。
8 and the pig, which indeed has hoofs and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud and is therefore unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their dead bodies you shall not touch.

9 ＂Of the various creatures that live in the water, whatever has both fins and scales you may eat,

10 but all those that lack either fins or scales you shall not eat; they are unclean for you.

11 ＂You may eat all clean birds.

12 But you shall not eat any of the following: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,

13 the various kites and falcons,

14 all the various species of crows,

15 the ostrich, the nightjar, the gull, the various species of hawks,

19 2 All winged insects, too, are unclean for you and shall not be eaten.

20 But you may eat any clean winged creatures.

21 3 ＂You must not eat any animal that has died of itself, for you are a people sacred to the LORD, your God. But you may give it to an alien who belongs to your community, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. ＂You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
凡自死的动物，你们不可吃，却可送给在你城内的外方人吃，或卖给外邦人，因为你是属于上主你天主的圣洁人民。不可煮羊羔在其母奶之中。
22 ＂Each year you shall tithe all the produce that grows in the field you have sown;
你每年在田地内播种所得的出产，应缴纳十分之一。
23 then in the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place of his name you shall eat in his presence your tithe of the grain, wine and oil, as well as the firstlings of your herd and flock, that you may learn always to fear the LORD, your God.
你应在上主选定为立自己名号的地方，于上主你的天主面前，吃那五谷、酒、油的十分之一，及你的头胎牛羊，好使你能学习着常敬畏上主你的天主。
24 4 If, however, the journey is too much for you and you are not able to bring your tithe, because the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far for you, considering how the LORD has blessed you,
如果为你路途太远，你不能把十分之一之物运去，因为上主你的天主选定为立自己名号的地方离你太远，那么若上主你的天主降福了你，
25 you may exchange the tithe for money and, with the purse of money in hand, go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses.
你可以把物品换成银钱，手中带着银钱，往上主你的天主所选的地方去，
26 You may then exchange the money for whatever you desire, oxen or sheep, wine or strong drink, or anything else you would enjoy, and there before the LORD, your God, you shall partake of it and make merry with your family.
在那里可随意用银钱买牛羊、清酒和浓酒，以及你愿意要的，在上主你的天主面前吃喝，与你的家属一同欢乐；
27 But do not neglect the Levite who belongs to your community, for he has no share in the heritage with you.
但在你城内的肋未人，你不可忘记，因为他在你中间没有分得产业。
28 ＂At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithes of your produce for that year and deposit them in community stores,
每过三年，你应取出全部出产的十分之一，储藏在你城镇内，
29 that the Levite who has no share in the heritage with you, and also the alien, the orphan and the widow who belong to your community, may come and eat their fill; so that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all that you undertake.
那没有与你分得产业的肋未人，和在你城镇内的外方人、孤儿、寡妇都可来吃喝，得享饱饫，好叫上主你的天主，在你所做的一切事业上降福你。

2 which shall be observed as follows. Every creditor shall relax his claim on what he has loaned his neighbor; he must not press his neighbor, his kinsman, because a relaxation in honor of the LORD has been proclaimed.
豁免的方式是这样：债主应把借与近人的一切，全部豁免，不应再向近人或兄弟追还，因为已为光荣上主宣布了豁免。
3 You may press a foreigner, but you shall relax the claim on your kinsman for what is yours.
向外邦人可以追还，但你兄弟欠你的应一概豁免。
4 Nay, more! since the LORD, your God, will bless you abundantly in the land he will give you to occupy as your heritage, there should be no one of you in need.
其实，在你中间不会有穷人，因为在你的天主赐给你作为产业的地上，上主必丰厚地降福你，
5 If you but heed the voice of the LORD, your God, and carefully observe all these commandments which I enjoin on you today,
只要你听从上主你天主的话，谨守遵行我今日吩咐你的这一切诫命。
6 you will lend to many nations, and borrow from none; you will rule over many nations, and none will rule over you, since the LORD, your God, will bless you as he promised.
因为你的天主必照他说的，降福你：你要借给许多民族，而你却不需要借贷；你要统治许多民族，但他们却不会统治你。
7 If one of your kinsmen in any community is in need in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor close your hand to him in his need.
如果在上主你的天主赐给你的地内的一座城里，在你中间有了一个穷人，又是你的兄弟，对这穷苦的兄弟，你不可心硬，不可袖手旁观，
8 Instead, you shall open your hand to him and freely lend him enough to meet his need.
应向他伸手，凡他所需要的尽量借给他。
9 Be on your guard lest, entertaining the mean thought that the seventh year, the year of relaxation, is near, you grudge help to your needy kinsman and give him nothing; else he will cry to the LORD against you and you will be held guilty.
你应提防，不要心生恶念说：＂第七年的豁免年快到了！＂就冷眼对待你穷苦的兄弟，不借给他什么。如果他呼求上主反对你，你应负罪。
10 When you give to him, give freely and not with ill will; for the LORD, your God, will bless you for this in all your works and undertakings.
你应尽量供给他；供给他时，不应伤心，因为为了这事，上主你的天主必在你的一切工作，和你着手所作的一切事上降福你。
11 2 The needy will never be lacking in the land; that is why I command you to open your hand to your poor and needy kinsman in your country.
既然在这地上总少不了穷人，为此我吩咐你说：对你地区内困苦贫穷的兄弟，你应大方地伸出援助之手。
12 ＂If your kinsman, a Hebrew man or woman, sells himself to you, he is to serve you for six years, but in the seventh year you shall dismiss him from your service, a free man.
你的兄弟，无论是希伯来男人，或是希伯来女人，若卖身与你，只应服事你六年，在第七年上，你应使他自由。
13 When you do so, you shall not send him away empty-handed,

14 but shall weight him down with gifts from your flock and threshing floor and wine press, in proportion to the blessing the LORD, your God, has bestowed on you.

15 For remember that you too were once slaves in the land of Egypt, and the LORD, your God, ransomed you. That is why I am giving you this command today.

16 If, however, he tells you that he does not wish to leave you, because he is devoted to you and your household, since he fares well with you,
倘若他对你说：＂我不愿离开你，＂因为他爱你和你的家庭，又喜欢同你在一起，
17 3 you shall take an awl and thrust it through his ear into the door, and he shall then be your slave forever. Your female slave, also, you shall treat in the same way.
你就拿锥子在门上把他耳朵刺透，他便永远成了你的奴仆；对你的婢女也该这样做。
18 You must not be reluctant to let your slave go free, since the service he has given you for six years was worth twice a hired man's salary; then also the LORD, your God, will bless you in everything you do.

19 ＂You shall consecrate to the LORD, your God, all the male firstlings of your herd and of your flock. You shall not work the firstlings of your cattle, nor shear the firstlings of your flock.
你的牛羊中所生的，凡是头胎雄性的，都应祝圣与上主你的天主；你不可使头胎公牛耕作，也不可剪头胎公羊的毛。
20 Year after year you and your family shall eat them before the LORD, your God, in the place he chooses.

21 If, however, a firstling is lame or blind or has any other serious defect, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD, your God,

22 but in your own communities you may eat it, the unclean and the clean eating it alike, as you would a gazelle or a deer.

23 Only, you shall not partake of its blood, which must be poured out on the ground like water.

Chapter 16

2 You shall offer the Passover sacrifice from your flock or your herd to the LORD, your God, in the place which he chooses as the dwelling place of his name.

3 You shall not eat leavened bread with it. For seven days you shall eat with it only unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, that you may remember as long as you live the day of your departure from the land of Egypt; for in frightened haste you left the land of Egypt.
吃这祭肉时，不可吃发酵饼；七天之内，当吃无酵饼，即困苦饼，因为你曾仓猝地走出了埃及地。为此你一生应天天记念你出埃及的日子。
4 Nothing leavened may be found in all your territory for seven days, and none of the meat which you sacrificed on the evening of the first day shall be kept overnight for the next day.

5 ＂You may not sacrifice the Passover in any of the communities which the LORD, your God, gives you;

7 You shall cook and eat it at the place the LORD, your God, chooses; then in the morning you may return to your tents.

8 For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh there shall be a solemn meeting in honor of the LORD, your God; on that day you shall not do any sort of work.

9 ＂You shall count off seven weeks, computing them from the day when the sickle is first put to the standing grain.

18 ＂You shall appoint judges and officials throughout your tribes to administer true justice for the people in all the communities which the LORD, your God, is giving you.

19 You shall not distort justice; you must be impartial. You shall not take a bribe; for a bribe blinds the eyes even of the wise and twists the words even of the just.

20 Justice and justice alone shall be your aim, that you may have life and may possess the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.

21 4 5 ＂You shall not plant a sacred pole of any kind of wood beside the altar of the LORD, your God, which you will build;

22 nor shall you erect a sacred pillar, such as the LORD, your God, detests.

3 by serving other gods, or by worshiping the sun or the moon or any of the host of the sky, against my command;

4 and if, on being informed of it, you find by careful investigation that it is true and an established fact that this abomination has been committed in Israel:
如果有人告诉了你，你一听说，就应详细调查。如果实有其事，真在以色列中做了这种可恶的事，
5 1 you shall bring the man (or woman) who has done the evil deed out to your city gates and stone him to death.
就将那做这种恶事的男人或女人，带到城门外，用石头砸死他们。
6 The testimony of two or three witnesses is required for putting a person to death; no one shall be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
根据两个或三个见证的口供，即可将这该死的人处以死刑；根据一个见证的口供，却不可处以死刑。
7 At the execution, the witnesses are to be the first to raise their hands against him; afterward all the people are to join in. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.

8 ＂If in your own community there is a case at issue which proves too complicated for you to decide, in a matter of bloodshed or of civil rights or of personal injury, you shall then go up to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses,

9 to the levitical priests or to the judge who is in office at that time. They shall study the case and then hand down to you their decision.

10 According to this decision that they give you in the place which the LORD chooses, you shall act, being careful to do exactly as they direct.

11 You shall carry out the directions they give you and the verdict they pronounce for you, without turning aside to the right or to the left from the decision they hand down to you.

12 2 Any man who has the insolence to refuse to listen to the priest who officiates there in the ministry of the LORD, your God, or to the judge, shall die. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.
若有人擅自行事，不听从那侍立于上主你的天主前供职的司祭，或不听从判官，应把这人处死。如此你由以色列中铲除了这邪恶；
13 And all the people, on hearing of it, shall fear, and never again be so insolent.
民众听见了，必都害怕，再不敢擅自行事。
14 ＂When you have come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, and have occupied it and settled in it, should you then decide to have a king over you like all the surrounding nations,
当你进入上主你的天主赐给你的土地，占据了那地，安住在那里以后，你如说：＂我愿照我四周的各民族，设立一位君王统治我，＂
15 you shall set that man over you as your king whom the LORD, your God, chooses. He whom you set over you as king must be your kinsman; a foreigner, who is no kin of yours, you may not set over you.
你应将上主你的天主所拣选的人，立为你的君王。应由你兄弟中立一人，作你的君王，不可让不属你兄弟的外方人统治你。
16 3 But he shall not have a great number of horses; nor shall he make his people go back again to Egypt to acquire them, against the LORD'S warning that you must never go back that way again.
但是，不可许他养许多马，免得他叫人民回到埃及去买马，因为上主曾对你们说过：＂你们不可再回到那条路上去；＂
17 Neither shall he have a great number of wives, lest his heart be estranged, nor shall he accumulate a vast amount of silver and gold.
也不可许他有许多妻妾，免得他的心迷于邪途；也不可许他过于积蓄金银。
18 When he is enthroned in his kingdom, he shall have a copy of this law made from the scroll that is in the custody of the levitical priests.
几时他登上了王位，依照肋未司祭处所存的法律书，给他抄写一本，
19 He shall keep it with him and read it all the days of his life that he may learn to fear the LORD, his God, and to heed and fulfill all the words of this law and these statutes.
叫他带在身边，一生天天阅读，好使他学习敬畏上主他的天主，谨守遵行这法律上的一切话和这些规则。
20 Let him not become estranged from his countrymen through pride, nor turn aside to the right or to the left from these commandments. Then he and his descendants will enjoy a long reign in Israel.

Chapter 18
1 ＂The whole priestly tribe of Levi shall have no share in the heritage with Israel; they shall live on the oblations of the LORD and the portions due to him.

2 Levi shall have no heritage among his brothers; the LORD himself is his heritage, as he has told him.

3 The priests shall have a right to the following things from the people: from those who are offering a sacrifice, whether the victim is from the herd or from the flock, the priest shall receive the shoulder, the jowls and the stomach.
这是司祭由人民应得的一份，就是宰杀牛羊作祭献的人，应将前腿、两腮和胃脏给司祭；
4 You shall also give him the first fruits of your grain and wine and oil, as well as the first fruits of the shearing of your flock;

5 for the LORD, your God, has chosen him and his sons out of all your tribes to be always in attendance to minister in the name of the LORD.

6 ＂When a Levite goes from one of your communities anywhere in Israel in which he ordinarily resides, to visit, as his heart may desire, the place which the LORD chooses,

7 he may minister there in the name of the LORD, his God, like all his fellow Levites who are in attendance there before the LORD.

8 He shall then receive the same portions to eat as the rest, along with his monetary offerings and heirlooms.
分享同样的口粮，不必变卖祖产。
9 ＂When you come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of the peoples there.

10 1 Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner,

11 or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead.
或念咒、问鬼、算命和求问死者；
12 Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the LORD, and because of such abominations the LORD, your God, is driving these nations out of your way.
因为凡做这些事的人，都是上主所憎恶的；其实就是为了这些可憎恶的事，上主你的天主才把他们由你面前赶走。
13 You, however, must be altogether sincere toward the LORD, your God.
你应一心一意属于上主你的天主。
14 Though these nations whom you are to dispossess listen to their soothsayers and fortune-tellers, the LORD, your God, will not permit you to do so.
你要赶走的这些民族，听信了算卦和占卜的人；但上主你的天主为你却不是这样安排；
15 2 ＂A prophet like me will the LORD, your God, raise up for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen.
上主你的天主，要由你中间，由你兄弟中，为你兴起一位象我一样的先知，你们应听信他。
16 This is exactly what you requested of the LORD, your God, at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let us not again hear the voice of the LORD, our God, nor see this great fire any more, lest we die.'
正如你在曷勒布集会之日，求上主你的天主说：＂惟愿我再不听见上主我的天主的声音，再不看见这烈火，免得我死亡。＂
17 And the LORD said to me, ‘This was well said.
上主遂对我说：＂他们说得有理，
18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kinsmen, and will put my words into his mouth; he shall tell them all that I command him.
我要由他们的兄弟中，给他们兴起一位象你一样的先知，我要将我的话放在他口中，他要向他们讲述我所吩咐他的一切。
19 If any man will not listen to my words which he speaks in my name, I myself will make him answer for it.
若有人不听信他因我的名所说的话，我要亲自同他算账。
20 But if a prophet presumes to speak in my name an oracle that I have not commanded him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, he shall die.'
但是，若一位先知擅敢因我的名说我没有吩咐他说的话，或因其它神的名说话，这位先知应该处死。＂
21 ＂If you say to yourselves, ‘How can we recognize an oracle which the LORD has spoken?',
也许你心里想：＂我们怎能知道上主未曾说过这话？＂
22 know that, even though a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if his oracle is not fulfilled or verified, it is an oracle which the LORD did not speak. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously, and you shall have no fear of him.
几时一位先知因上主之名说话，若他的话不实现，不应验，这话就不是上主说的，是先知擅自说的，你不用怕他。

Such human sacrifices are classed here with other pagan superstitions because they were believed to possess magical powers for averting a calamity; cf 2 Kings 3:27. Three other forms of superstition are listed here: augury (by a fortune-teller, a soothsayer or a diviner): black magic (by a charmer . . . or caster of spells); and necromancy (by one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead).
2 [15] A prophet like me: from the context (opposition to the pagan soothsayers) it seems that Moses is referring in general to all the true prophets who were to succeed him. Chapter 19
1 ＂When the LORD, your God, removes the nations whose land he is giving you, and you have taken their place and are settled in their cities and houses,
当上主你天主消灭了那些异民，上主你的天主将他们的土地赐给了你，而你占领了那地，住在他们的城镇和房屋里以后，
2 1 you shall set apart three cities in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you to occupy.
应在上主你的天主赐给你作产业的地方，划出三座城，
3 You shall thereby divide into three regions the land which the LORD, your God, will give you as a heritage, and so arrange the routes that every homicide will be able to find a refuge.
修好到那里去的道路，将上主你的天主给你作产业的地方，分为三个区域，这样使杀了人的，可逃到那里去。
4 ＂It is in the following case that a homicide may take refuge in such a place to save his life: when someone unwittingly kills his neighbor to whom he had previously borne no malice.
杀人犯逃到那里得保全性命的案件应是这样：假使有人无意杀了邻人，彼此又素无仇怨：
5 For example, if he goes with his neighbor to a forest to cut wood, and as he swings his ax to fell a tree, its head flies off the handle and hits his neighbor a mortal blow, he may take refuge in one of these cities to save his life.
比如他与邻人同去林中伐树，当他手挥斧子伐树时，斧头脱了柄，落在邻人身上，以致毙命，他就可逃到这些城中的一座城去，为保全性命，
6 2 Should the distance be too great, the avenger of blood may in the heat of his anger pursue the homicide and overtake him and strike him dead, even though he does not merit death since he had previously borne the slain man no malice.
以免报血仇者心中发火追赶杀人者，因路途遥远，而能赶上他，将他杀死；其实他与那人素无仇怨，罪不该死。
7 That is why I order you to set apart three cities.
为此我吩咐你：应划出三座城。
8 ＂But if the LORD, your God, enlarges your territory, as he swore to your fathers, and gives you all the land he promised your fathers he would give

9 in the event that you carefully observe all these commandments which I enjoin on you today, loving the LORD, your God, and ever walking in his ways: then add three cities to these three.
倘若你谨守遵行我今日吩咐你的这一切诫命，爱上主你的天主，日日履行他的道路，──你应在这三座城以外，另设三座城，
10 Thus, in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, innocent blood will not be shed and you will not become guilty of bloodshed.
免得无罪者的血，流在上主你的天主赐给你作产业的土地上，血债归在你身上。
11 ＂However, if someone lies in wait for his neighbor out of hatred for him, and rising up against him, strikes him mortally, and then takes refuge in one of these cities,
但是，如果有人怀恨自己的邻人，埋伏突击他，而将他杀死，然后逃到这些城中的一座，
12 the elders of his own city shall send for him and have him taken from there, and shall hand him over to be slain by the avenger of blood.
他本城的长老应派人去，将他从那里逮回，交于报血仇者手中，将他处死；
13 Do not look on him with pity, but purge from Israel the stain of shedding innocent blood, that you may prosper.
你不可怜视他，而应由以色列中洗除无辜的血：如此你才能平安无事。
14 ＂You shall not move your neighbor's landmarks erected by your forefathers in the heritage you receive in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you to occupy.
在上主你的天主赐给你作产业所分得的土地上，不可移动你邻人的地界，因为是先人所划定的。
15 ＂One witness alone shall not take the stand against a man in regard to any crime or any offense of which he may be guilty; a judicial fact shall be established only on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
人无论犯了什么不义，什么罪恶，或什么过错，只凭一个见证，罪名不得成立；须凭两个或三个见证的口供，才可定案。
16 ＂If an unjust witness takes the stand against a man to accuse him of a defection from the law,
若有人怀有恶意，起来作证控告某人犯法，
17 the two parties in the dispute shall appear before the LORD in the presence of the priests or judges in office at that time;
二人应一同站在上主面前，和值班的司祭及判官面前。
18 and if after a thorough investigation the judges find that the witness is a false witness and has accused his kinsman falsely,
判官应仔细考问。若那作证的是一个假证人，诬告自己的兄弟，
19 you shall do to him as he planned to do to his kinsman. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.
你就应对付他，如同他想对付自己的兄弟一样：这样你便由你中间铲除了这邪恶，
20 The rest, on hearing of it, shall fear, and never again do a thing so evil among you.
其余的人听了，必然害怕，在你中间再不致有这样的恶事发生。
21 Do not look on such a man with pity. Life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot!
你不可发慈悲，要以命偿命，以眼还眼，以牙还牙，以手还手，以脚还脚。

Chapter 20
1 ＂When you go out to war against your enemies and you see horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid of them, for the LORD, your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, will be with you.
当你出征进攻你的仇敌，见到战马战车和比你更多的群众时，你不必害怕，因为领你出埃及地的上主你的天主与你在一起。
2 ＂When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and say to the soldiers:
当你们快要交战时，司祭应上前来，对民众训话，
3 ‘Hear, O Israel! Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Be not weakhearted or afraid; be neither alarmed nor frightened by them.
向他们说：＂以色列，请听！你们今天就要上阵攻打你们的仇敌，你们不要灰心，不要害怕，不要恐慌，不要在他们面前战栗，
4 For it is the LORD, your God, who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and give you victory.'
因为上主你们的天主与你们同去，帮助你们攻打你们的仇敌，使你们胜利。＂
5 ＂Then the officials shall say to the soldiers, 'Is there anyone who has built a new house and not yet had the housewarming? Let him return home, lest he die in battle and another dedicate it.
然后长官对民众说：＂谁若盖了新房屋，还没有祝圣，他可回家去，免得他死在战场，别人来替他祝圣。
6 Is there anyone who has planted a vineyard and never yet enjoyed its fruits? Let him return home, lest he die in battle and another enjoy its fruits in his stead.
谁若栽种了葡萄园，还没有享用过，他可回家去，免得他死在战场，别人来替他收获。
7 Is there anyone who has betrothed a woman and not yet taken her as his wife? Let him return home, lest he die in battle and another take her to wife.'
谁若与女人订了婚，还没有迎娶，他可回家去，免得他死在战场，别人来娶她。＂
8 In fine, the officials shall say to the soldiers, ‘Is there anyone who is afraid and weakhearted? Let him return home, lest he make his fellows as fainthearted as himself.'
长官再继续对民众致辞说：＂谁若害怕灰心，他可回家去，免得他使兄弟的心，如他的一样沮丧。＂
9 ＂When the officials have finished speaking to the soldiers, military officers shall be appointed over the army.
长官向民众训完话，就派定军官统率部队。
10 ＂When you march up to attack a city, first offer it terms of peace.
当你临近一城要进攻时，应先向那城提议和平；
11 If it agrees to your terms of peace and opens its gates to you, all the people to be found in it shall serve you in forced labor.
若那地给你和平的答复，给你开门，城内所有的人民就臣服于你，给你服役。
12 But if it refuses to make peace with you and instead offers you battle, lay siege to it,
如不与你讲和，反愿与你作战，你就围攻。
13 and when the LORD, your God, delivers it into your hand, put every male in it to the sword;
几时上主你的天主将城交在你手中，你应用利刃杀尽所有的男人；
14 but the women and children and livestock and all else in it that is worth plundering you may take as your booty, and you may use this plunder of your enemies which the LORD, your God, has given you.
至于妇女、婴儿、牲畜和在城内所有的一切，算是你夺得的胜利品，你可享用你由仇人夺得的胜利品，因为是上主你的天主赐给你的。
15 ＂That is how you shall deal with any city at a considerable distance from you, which does not belong to the peoples of this land.
这是你对于离你很远，且不属于这些民族的城市的作法。
16 But in the cities of those nations which the LORD, your God, is giving you as your heritage, you shall not leave a single soul alive.
但是在上主你的天主赐给你作产业的这些人民的城市内，你不可让任何生灵生活，
17 You must doom them all-the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites-as the LORD, your God, has commanded you,
应将他们：即赫特人、阿摩黎人。客纳罕人、培黎齐人、希威人和耶步斯人，尽行毁灭，如上主你的天主吩咐你的，
18 lest they teach you to make any such abominable offerings as they make to their gods, and you thus sin against the LORD, your God.
免得他们教你学习他们对自己的神所行的一切可恶之事，使你们得罪上主你们的天主。
19 ＂When you are at war with a city and have to lay siege to it for a long time before you capture it, you shall not destroy its trees by putting an ax to them. You may eat their fruit, but you must not cut down the trees. After all, are the trees of the field men, that they should be included in your siege?
若你围攻一座城，需要多日才能攻取占领，你不可用斧头砍伐那里的树木；你可以吃树上的果子，却不可砍倒树；难道田间的树可当作你围攻的敌人看待？
20 However, those trees which you know are not fruit trees you may destroy, cutting them down to build siegeworks with which to reduce the city that is resisting you.
只是那些你知道不结实的树木，你可毁坏砍伐，用来建筑围攻的设备，为进攻与你交战的城市，直到将城攻下。
Chapter 21
1 1 ＂If the corpse of a slain man is found lying in the open on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you to occupy, and it is not known who killed him,
如果上主你的天主赐给你作产业的地方，发现有人被杀，曝尸原野，却不知道是谁杀了他，
2 your elders and judges shall go out and measure the distances to the cities that are in the neighborhood of the corpse.
你的长老和官长应出来，从被杀者测量到四周各城，
3 When it is established which city is nearest the corpse, the elders of that city shall take a heifer that has never been put to work as a draft animal under a yoke,
看那一座城离被杀者最近；然后这城的长老应牵来一头尚未耕作，尚未负轭的母牛犊。
4 2 and bringing it down to a wadi with an everflowing stream at a place that has not been plowed or sown, they shall cut the heifer's throat there in the wadi.
这城的长老应把母牛犊牵到尚未耕耘播种的地方，靠近常流的溪水旁，就在那溪水上砍断母牛犊的颈。
5 The priests, the descendants of Levi, shall also be present, for the LORD, your God, has chosen them to minister to him and to give blessings in his name, and every case of dispute or violence must be settled by their decision.
肋未的子孙司祭们应上前来，因为上主你的天主拣选了他们为事奉自己，因上主之名颁赐降福，所以一切争论殴打的事，都应凭他们的裁判来决断。
6 3 Then all the elders of that city nearest the corpse shall wash their hands over the heifer whose throat was cut in the wadi,
那离被杀者最近城市的长老，都应用溪水在被砍断颈项的母牛犊身上洗手，
7 4 and shall declare,‘Our hands did not shed this blood, and our eyes did not see the deed.
同时声明说：＂这血不是我们的手流的，我们的眼也没有看见。
8 Absolve, O LORD, your people Israel, whom you have ransomed, and let not the guilt of shedding innocent blood remain in the midst of your people Israel.' Thus they shall be absolved from the guilt of bloodshed,
上主！求你赦免你所救赎的以色列人民，不要让这流无辜血的罪债，留在你以色列人民中间。＂这样他们算是赎了流血的罪。
9 and you shall purge from your midst the guilt of innocent blood, that you may prosper for doing what is right in the sight of the LORD.
你由你中间也除去了流无辜血的罪，因为你行了上主眼中视为正直的事。
10 ＂When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your hand, so that you take captives,
当你出征进攻你的敌人时，上主你的天主将他们交在你手中，你获得了一些俘虏；
11 if you see a comely woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as wife,
你若在俘虏中看见了一个容貌美好的女人，对她爱恋不舍，愿娶她为妻，
12 5 you may take her home to your house. But before she may live there, she must shave her head and pare her nails
你可带她到你家中，叫她剃去头发，剪短指甲，
13 and lay aside her captive's garb. After she has mourned her father and mother for a full month, you may have relations with her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife.
脱去自己被掳时所穿的衣服，住在你家里，哀悼她的父母一个月；然后，你才能亲近她：你做她的丈夫，她做你的妻子。
14 However, if later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; but you shall not sell her or enslave her, since she was married to you under compulsion.
以后如果你不喜欢她，应让她随意离去，决不能将她卖钱，也不能以她为奴，因为你曾玷污了她。
15 ＂If a man with two wives loves one and dislikes the other; and if both bear him sons, but the first-born is of her whom he dislikes:
一人如有两妻，一为所爱，一为所恶，所爱所恶的，都给他生了儿子；但是长子却是他所恶的妻子生的，
16 when he comes to bequeath his property to his sons he may not consider as his first-born the son of the wife he loves, in preference to his true first-born, the son of the wife whom he dislikes.
在他将自己的产业分给他的儿子的那一天，不能将爱妻的儿子视作长子，而废弃所恶妻子所生的长子；
17 On the contrary, he shall recognize as his first-born the son of her whom he dislikes, giving him a double share of whatever he happens to own, since he is the first fruits of his manhood, and to him belong the rights of the first-born.
必须承认所恶妻子的儿子为长子，将所有的产业，多分给他一份，因为他是自己壮年时的首生子，应获得长子的权利。
18 ＂If a man has a stubborn and unruly son who will not listen to his father or mother, and will not obey them even though they chastise him,
人若有一个忤逆不孝的儿子，不听从父母的劝告，责罚他以后仍不听从，
19 6 his father and mother shall have him apprehended and brought out to the elders at the gate of his home city,
父母就该将他捉住，带到当地的城门前，见本城的长老，
20 where they shall say to those city elders, ‘This son of ours is a stubborn and unruly fellow who will not listen to us; he is a glutton and a drunkard.'
对本城的长老说：＂我们这个儿子忤逆不孝，不听我们的劝告，是个放荡的酒徒。＂
21 Then all his fellow citizens shall stone him to death. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel, on hearing of it, shall fear.
本城的众人就应用石头将他砸死：这样，由你中间铲除了这邪恶，每个以色列人听了，必然害怕。
22 7 ＂If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his corpse hung on a tree,
若人犯了该死的罪，处死以后，应将他悬在木杆上，
23 8 it shall not remain on the tree overnight. You shall bury it the same day; otherwise, since God's curse rests on him who hangs on a tree, you will defile the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as an inheritance.
但不可让他的尸体在木杆上过夜，应在当天将他埋葬。因为凡被悬者，是天主所咒骂的；你不可玷污上主你的天主所赐给你作产业的土地。

1 [1-9] This paragraph is best read immediately after Deut 19:21. The slain man may not necessarily have been murdered; he may have been killed by a wild beast. But the blood of the slain cries out to God from the soil where it was shed; cf Genesis 4:10. Therefore a religious ceremony of propitiation is here prescribed in order to avert God's anger on the community.
2 [4] They shall cut the heifer's throat there in the wadi: its blood is to be carried away by the stream, signifying thereby the removal of the human blood from the soil. This is not a sacrifice but a symbolic action; the priests are present merely as official witnesses.
3 [6] Wash their hands: a symbolic gesture in protestation of one's own innocence when human blood is unjustly shed; cf Matthew 27:24.
4 [7] This blood: the blood of the slain man as symbolized by the heifer's blood.

8 [23] God's curse rests on him who hangs on a tree: St. Paul quotes these words in Gal 3:13, where he applies them to the crucified Savior, who ＂redeemed us from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for us.＂
Chapter 22
1 ＂You shall not see your kinsman's ox or sheep driven astray without showing concern about it; see to it that it is returned to your kinsman.
你如果看见你兄弟的牛羊迷了路，你不可不顾，应牵回交给你的兄弟。
2 If this kinsman does not live near you, or you do not know who he may be, take it to your own place and keep it with you until he claims it; then give it back to him.
如果你的兄弟离你远，或者你不认识他，你该牵到你家中，留在你处，直到你的兄弟来寻找，你就还给他。
3 You shall do the same with his ass, or his garment, or anything else which your kinsman loses and you happen to find; you may not be unconcerned about them.
对他的驴你应这样做，对他的衣服也应这样做；对你兄弟所失，而由你找到的一切物件，都应这样做；决不可不管不顾。
4 You shall not see your kinsman's ass or ox foundering on the road without showing concern about it; see to it that you help him lift it up.
你若看见你兄弟的驴牛在路上跌到了，你不可不顾，务要帮助他将驴牛扶起。
5 ＂A woman shall not wear an article proper to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's dress; for anyone who does such things is an abomination to the LORD, your God.

6 ＂If, while walking along, you chance upon a bird's nest with young birds or eggs in it, in any tree or on the ground, and the mother bird is sitting on them, you shall not take away the mother bird along with her brood;
你在路上，如果发现树上或地上有鸟窝，里面有雏或有蛋，母鸟在伏雏或孵卵，你不可连母鸟带幼雏一并拿去；
7 you shall let her go, although you may take her brood away. It is thus that you shall have prosperity and a long life.

8 ＂When you build a new house, put a parapet around the roof; otherwise, if someone falls off, you will bring bloodguilt upon your house.

9 1 ＂You shall not sow your vineyard with two different kinds of seed; if you do, its produce shall become forfeit, both the crop you have sown and the yield of the vineyard.

10 You shall not plow with an ox and an ass harnessed together.

15 3 the father and mother of the girl shall take the evidence of her virginity and bring it to the elders at the city gate.

16 There the father of the girl shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man in marriage, but he has come to dislike her,
少女的父亲应对长老说：＂我将我的女儿嫁给这人为妻，他却憎恶她，
17 and now brings monstrous charges against her, saying: I did not find your daughter a virgin. But here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!' And they shall spread out the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 4 Then these city elders shall take the man and chastise him,

19 besides fining him one hundred silver shekels, which they shall give to the girl's father, because the man defamed a virgin in Israel. Moreover, she shall remain his wife, and he may not divorce her as long as he lives.

20 ＂But if this charge is true, and evidence of the girl's virginity is not found,

21 they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her father's house and there her townsmen shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.

22 ＂If a man is discovered having relations with a woman who is married to another, both the man and the woman with whom he has had relations shall die. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.

23 5 ＂If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her,
若一年轻处女已许配与人，有人在城中遇见她，而与她同寝；
24 you shall bring them both out to the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.
你们应将他们二人领到当地城门口，用石头砸死他们：那少女该死，因为她虽在城里，却没有呼救；那男人该死，因为他强奸了人家的妻子：这样你由你中间铲除了邪恶。
25 ＂If, however, it is in the open fields that a man comes upon such a betrothed maiden, seizes her and has relations with her, the man alone shall die.
但若有人在郊野遇见了一个许配与人的少女，强奸了她，与她同寝，只有这与她同寝的人该死，
26 You shall do nothing to the maiden, since she is not guilty of a capital offense. This case is like that of a man who rises up against his neighbor and murders him:
对那少女，不可行刑，因为她并没有犯死罪，因为这件事就如一个人狙击自己的邻人，将他杀死一样；
27 it was in the open fields that he came upon her, and though the betrothed maiden may have cried out for help, there was no one to come to her aid.
因为那男人在郊野里遇见了她，纵使许配与人的少女呼救，也没有人来救她。
28 ＂If a man comes upon a maiden that is not betrothed, takes her and has relations with her, and their deed is discovered,
若有人遇见一个尚未许配与人的年轻处女，抓住她而与她同寝，并被人发见。
29 the man who had relations with her shall pay the girl's father fifty silver shekels and take her as his wife, because he has deflowered her. Moreover, he may not divorce her as long as he lives.
这与她同寝的人应给少女的父亲五十＂协刻耳＂银子外，还该娶她为妻，因为他强奸了她，一生不能休她。

Chapter 23
1 1 ＂A man shall not marry his father's wife, nor shall he dishonor his father's bed.

2 ＂No one whose testicles have been crushed or whose penis has been cut off may be admitted into the community of the LORD.
凡外肾受伤或被阉割的人，不得进入上主的集会。
3 No child of an incestuous union may be admitted into the community of the LORD, nor any descendant of his even to the tenth generation.
私生子不得进入上主的集会；他的后代即便到了第十代，也不得进入上主的集会。
4 No Ammonite or Moabite may ever be admitted into the community of the LORD, nor any descendants of theirs even to the tenth generation,
阿孟人和摩阿布人不得进入上主的集会；他们的后代，即便到第十代，也永不得进入上主的集会；
5 because they would not succor you with food and water on your journey after you left Egypt, and because Moab hired Balaam, son of Beor, from Pethor in Aram Naharaim, to curse you;
因为当你们出离埃及时，他们没有带食物和水，在路上前来迎接你们；又因他们从美索不达米亚的培托尔，雇了贝敖尔的儿子巴郎来咒骂你；
6 though the LORD, your God, would not listen to Balaam and turned his curse into a blessing for you, because he loves you.
但是上主你的天主不但不愿听从巴郎，上主你的天主反而将咒骂变为你的降福，因为上主你的天主爱你。
7 Never promote their peace and prosperity as long as you live.
你一生永远不要为他们谋安宁和幸福。
8 But do not abhor the Edomite, since he is your brother, nor the Egyptian, since you were an alien in his country.
你不可憎恨厄东人，因为他是你的兄弟；也不可憎恨埃及人，因为你曾在他们国内做过侨民。
9 Children born to them may in the third generation be admitted into the community of the LORD.
他们所生的子孙到了第三代，即能进入上主的集会。
10 ＂When you are in camp during an expedition against your enemies, you shall keep yourselves from everything offensive.
几时你出征扎营，攻打你的仇敌，应避免一切恶事。
11 If one of you becomes unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he shall go outside the camp, and not return until,
你中间如有人夜间梦遗，即成为不洁，应走出营外，不可进入营内；
12 toward evening, he has bathed in water; then, when the sun has set, he may come back into the camp.
傍晚时，应用水洗澡，日落时，才能进营。
13 Outside the camp you shall have a place set aside to be used as a latrine.
在营外应有厕所，你应去那里便溺。
14 You shall also keep a trowel in your equipment and with it, when you go outside to ease nature, you shall first dig a hole and afterward cover up your excrement.
在你的武器中；应有一把铲；当你在外便溺时，用它来掘坑，然后用以铲土掩盖粪便。
15 Since the LORD, your God, journeys along within your camp to defend you and to put your enemies at your mercy, your camp must be holy; otherwise, if he sees anything indecent in your midst, he will leave your company.
因为上主你的天主在你营中往来，为救护你，将你的仇人交给你，所以你的营地应当圣洁，免得他在你那里见到讨厌的事，而离弃你。
16 ＂You shall not hand over to his master a slave who has taken refuge from him with you.
凡由主人逃到你这里来的奴仆，你不应将他交给他的主人；
17 2 Let him live with you wherever he chooses, in any one of your communities that pleases him. Do not molest him.
他应在你中间与你同住，住在他自己所选的地方，住在他喜欢的一座城内；你不可欺负他。
18 3 ＂There shall be no temple harlot among the Israelite women, nor a temple prostitute among the Israelite men.
以色列妇女中不可有人当庙妓，以色列男人中亦不可有人作庙倡。
19 You shall not offer a harlot's fee or a dog's price as any kind of votive offering in the house of the LORD, your God; both these things are an abomination to the LORD, your God.
你不可将卖淫的酬金和卖狗的代价，带到上主你天主的殿内，还任何誓愿，因为这两样于上主你的天主都是可憎恶的。
20 ＂You shall not demand interest from your countrymen on a loan of money or of food or of anything else on which interest is usually demanded.
借给你兄弟银钱、食物，或任何能生利之物，你不可取利。
21 You may demand interest from a foreigner, but not from your countryman, so that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all your undertakings on the land you are to enter and occupy.
对外方人你可取利，对你兄弟却不可取利，好使上主你的天主在你要去占领的地上，降福你进行的一切事业。
22 ＂When you make a vow to the LORD, your God, you shall not delay in fulfilling it; otherwise you will be held guilty, for the LORD, your God, is strict in requiring it of you.
几时你向上主你的天主许愿，不要迟延还愿，因为上主你的天主必向你追讨，你就不免有罪了。
23 Should you refrain from making a vow, you will not be held guilty.
如果你不许愿，你就没有罪。
24 But you must keep your solemn word and fulfill the votive offering you have freely promised to the LORD.
凡你口中说出来的，你应遵守；凡你亲口说出向上主你的天主所许的愿，你应执行。
25 ＂When you go through your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat as many of his grapes as you wish, but do not put them in your basket.
几时你进入你邻人的葡萄园，你可随意摘食葡萄，可以吃饱，但不可装入你的器皿内。
26 When you go through your neighbor's grainfield, you may pluck some of the ears with your hand, but do not put a sickle to your neighbor's grain.
几时你进入你邻人的麦田，可以伸手摘麦穗，但不可在你邻人的麦田内动镰刀。

Chapter 24
1 1 2 ＂When a man, after marrying a woman and having relations with her, is later displeased with her because he finds in her something indecent, and therefore he writes out a bill of divorce and hands it to her, thus dismissing her from his house:
如果一人娶了妻，占有她之后，在她身上发现了什么难堪的事，因而不喜悦她，便给她写了休书，交在她手中，叫她离开他的家，
2 if on leaving his house she goes and becomes the wife of another man,
而这女子走出了他的家，又去嫁给了另一人为妻，
3 and the second husband, too, comes to dislike her and dismisses her from his house by handing her a written bill of divorce; or if this second man who has married her, dies;
如果后夫又憎恶她给她写了休书，交在她手中，叫她离开他的家，或者娶她为妻的后夫死了，
4 then her former husband, who dismissed her, may not again take her as his wife after she has become defiled. That would be an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring such guilt upon the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage.
那么，那休她的前夫，在她受了污辱之后，不能再娶她为妻，因为这在上主面前是可憎恶的事；你不可使上主你的天主赐给你作产业的土地陷于罪恶。
5 ＂When a man is newly wed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family, to bring joy to the wife he has married.
人娶了新妇，不应从军出征，也不可派他担任什么职务；他应在家享受一年自由，使他新娶的妻子快活。
6 3 ＂No one shall take a hand mill or even its upper stone as a pledge for debt, for he would be taking the debtor's sustenance as a pledge.
不可拿人的磨，或上面的一块磨石作抵押，因为这无异是拿人的性命作抵押。
7 ＂If any man is caught kidnaping a fellow Israelite in order to enslave him and sell him, the kidnaper shall be put to death. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.

8 ＂In an attack of leprosy you shall be careful to observe exactly and to carry out all the directions of the levitical priests. Take care to act in accordance with the instructions I have given them.

9 Remember what the LORD, your God, did to Miriam on the journey after you left Egypt.
你应记得你们出埃及后，在途中，上主你的天主对米黎盎所做的事。
10 4 ＂When you make a loan of any kind to your neighbor, you shall not enter his house to receive a pledge from him,
几时你借给你近人什么，不可走进他家索取抵押；
11 but shall wait outside until the man to whom you are making the loan brings his pledge outside to you.
应站在外面，等那借贷的人把抵押给你拿出来。
12 If he is a poor man, you shall not sleep in the mantle he gives as a pledge,
倘若他是个贫苦人，你不可带着他的抵押去睡觉。
13 but shall return it to him at sunset that he himself may sleep in it. Then he will bless you, and it will be a good deed of yours before the LORD, your God.
反之，在日落时，务要将抵押还给他，好叫他睡在自己的外衣里降福你；这在上主你的天主面前，算是你的功德。
14 ＂You shall not defraud a poor and needy hired servant, whether he be one of your own countrymen or one of the aliens who live in your communities.
贫苦可怜的佣工，不论是你的一个兄弟，或是你城镇地区内的一个外方人，你不应欺压他，
15 You shall pay him each day's wages before sundown on the day itself, since he is poor and looks forward to them. Otherwise he will cry to the LORD against you, and you will be held guilty.
应在当天，交给他工钱，不要等到日落；因为他贫苦，他急需工钱用，免得他对你不满而呼求上主，你就不免有罪了。
16 ＂Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children for their fathers; only for his own guilt shall a man be put to death.
不可为儿子的罪处死父亲，亦不可为父亲的罪处死儿子：每人应为自己的罪被处死刑。
17 ＂You shall not violate the rights of the alien or of the orphan, nor take the clothing of a widow as a pledge.
不可侵犯外方人或孤儿的权利，不可拿寡妇的衣服作抵押；
18 For, remember, you were once slaves in Egypt, and the LORD, your God, ransomed you from there; that is why I command you to observe this rule.

19 ＂When you reap the harvest in your field and overlook a sheaf there, you shall not go back to get it; let it be for the alien, the orphan or the widow, that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all your undertakings.

1 [1-4] This law is directly concerned only with forbidding divorced couples to remarry each other, and indirectly with checking hasty divorces, by demanding sufficient cause and certain legal formalities. Divorce itself is taken for granted and tolerated as an existing custom whose evils this law seeks to lessen. Cf Deut 22:19, 29; Malachi 2:14-16. Christ gave the authentic interpretation of this law: ＂Moses, by reason of the hardness of your heart, permitted you to put away your wives; but it was not so from the beginning＂ (Matthew 19:8, 9).

Chapter 25
1 ＂When men have a dispute and bring it to court, and a decision is handed down to them acquitting the innocent party and condemning the guilty party,
几时人与人之间发生争讼，而对簿公庭，定案时，正直的，应声明他正直；有罪的，应判定他有罪；
2 if the latter deserves stripes, the judge shall have him lie down and in his presence receive the number of stripes his guilt deserves.
如有罪的应受鞭刑，判官应命他伏下，当面按他的罪照数鞭打；
3 1 Forty stripes may be given him, but no more; lest, if he were beaten with more stripes than these, your kinsman should be looked upon as disgraced because of the severity of the beating.
只可打他四十下，不可再多；怕鞭打他超过这数目，你的兄弟在你眼前过于受辱。
4 2 ＂You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out grain.
牛在打场的时候，不可笼住它的嘴。
5 3 ＂When brothers live together and one of them dies without a son, the widow of the deceased shall not marry anyone outside the family; but her husband's brother shall go to her and perform the duty of a brother-in-law by marrying her.
如果兄弟住在一起，其中一个没有留下儿子就死了；死者的妻子不可出嫁外人，丈夫的兄弟应走近她，以她为妻，对她履行兄弟的义务。
6 The first-born son she bears shall continue the line of the deceased brother, that his name may not be blotted out from Israel.

9 4 his sister-in-law, in the presence of the elders, shall go up to him and strip his sandal from his foot and spit in his face, saying publicly, 'This is how one should be treated who will not build up his brother's family!'

10 And his lineage shall be spoken of in Israel as‘the family of the man stripped of his sandal.'

11 ＂When two men are fighting and the wife of one intervenes to save her husband from the blows of his opponent, if she stretches out her hand and seizes the latter by his private parts,

12 you shall chop off her hand without pity.
你应砍去她的手，不应表示怜惜。
13 ＂You shall not keep two differing weights in your bag, one large and the other small;

14 nor shall you keep two different measures in your house, one large and the other small.
在你家内也不可有两样升斗：一大一小。
15 But use a true and just weight, and a true and just measure, that you may have a long life on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.
你应有准确公正的法码，应有准确公正的升斗，好使你在上主你的天主赐给你的地上，得享长寿；
16 Everyone who is dishonest in any of these matters is an abomination to the LORD, your God.
因为凡做这些事的，凡做事不公平的，于上主你的天主都是可憎恶的。
17 5 ＂Bear in mind what Amalek did to you on the journey after you left Egypt,
你应记得，当你由埃及出来时，阿玛肋克在路上怎样对待了你：
18 how without fear of any god he harassed you along the way, weak and weary as you were, and cut off at the rear all those who lagged behind.
怎样在路上袭击了你，乘你困乏无力，攻击你后方所有疲惫的人，一点也不怕天主。
19 Therefore, when the LORD, your God, gives you rest from all your enemies round about in the land which he is giving you to occupy as your heritage, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the heavens. Do not forget!
所以，当上主你的天主赐你摆脱你四周的一切仇敌，在上主你的天主赐给你作产业的地上，安享太平时，你应由天下抹去阿玛肋克的名字；不可忘记！

Some commentators, however, connect this symbolic act with the ceremony mentioned in Ruth 4:7, 8.
5 [17-19] This attack on Israel by Amalek is not mentioned elsewhere in the Old Testament, although it probably was connected with the battle mentioned in Exodus 17:8. A campaign against Amalek was carried out by Saul; cf 1 Sam 15.
Chapter 26
1 ＂When you have come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, and have occupied it and settled in it,
当你进入上主你的天主赐给你作产业的土地，占领后住在那里时，
2 you shall take some first fruits of the various products of the soil which you harvest from the land which the LORD, your God, gives you, and putting them in a basket, you shall go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the dwelling place of his name.
应由上主你的天主赐给你的土地上，将一切田产的初熟之物，取出一部分放在筐里，往上主你的天主选定立自己名号的地方去，
3 There you shall go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, ‘Today I acknowledge to the LORD, my God, that I have indeed come into the land which he swore to our fathers he would give us.'
到当时供职的司祭前，对他说：＂我今日向上主我的天主明认，我已来到了上主对我们的祖先誓许赐与我们的地方。＂
4 The priest shall then receive the basket from you and shall set it in front of the altar of the LORD, your God.
司祭就由你手中接过筐子，放在上主你的天主的祭坛前；
5 1 Then you shall declare before the LORD, your God,‘My father was a wandering Aramean who went down to Egypt with a small household and lived there as an alien. But there he became a nation great, strong and numerous.
然后你就在上主你的天主面前声明说：＂我的祖先原是个飘泊的阿兰人，下到埃及，同少数的家人寄居在那里，竟成了一强大有力，人口众多的民族。
6 When the Egyptians maltreated and oppressed us, imposing hard labor upon us,
埃及虐待我们，压迫我们，勒令我们做苦工。
7 we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and he heard our cry and saw our affliction, our toil and our oppression.
我们向上主我们祖先的天主呼号，上主俯听了我们的哀声，垂视了我们的苦痛、劳役和所受的压迫。
8 He brought us out of Egypt with his strong hand and outstretched arm, with terrifying power, with signs and wonders;
上主以强力的手，伸展的臂，巨大的恐吓，神迹奇事，领我们出了埃及，
9 and bringing us into this country, he gave us this land flowing with milk and honey.
来到这地方，将这流奶流蜜的土地赐给了我们。
10 Therefore, I have now brought you the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, O LORD, have given me.' And having set them before the LORD, your God, you shall bow down in his presence.
上主，请看！我现今带来了你赐给我的田地里所出产的初熟之物。＂遂将这初熟之物放在上主你的天主面前，俯伏朝拜上主你的天主。
11 Then you and your family, together with the Levite and the aliens who live among you, shall make merry over all these good things which the LORD, your God, has given you.
然后你与肋未人，和住在你中间的外方人，欢乐享受上主你的天主赐与你和你家庭的一切福分。
12 2 ＂When you have finished setting aside all the tithes of your produce in the third year, the year of the tithes, and you have given them to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, that they may eat their fill in your own community,
在第三年，即献什一之年，当你把你一切出产十分之一，完全取出，分给肋未人、外方人、孤儿和寡妇，并使他们在你的城镇中吃饱之后，
13 you shall declare before the LORD, your God,‘I have purged my house of the sacred portion and I have given it to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, just as you have commanded me. In this I have not broken or forgotten any of your commandments:
你应到上主你的天主面前说：＂我由我家中完全交出了这祝圣的一份，分给了肋未人、外方人、孤儿和寡妇，全照你吩咐我的命令；我没有违犯你的命令，也没有忽略。
14 3 I have not eaten any of the tithe as a mourner; I have not brought any of it out as one unclean; I have not offered any of it to the dead. I have thus hearkened to the voice of the LORD, my God, doing just as you have commanded me.

15 Look down, then, from heaven, your holy abode, and bless your people Israel and the soil you have given us in the land flowing with milk and honey which you promised on oath to our fathers.'
愿你由你神圣的住所，由天上俯视，降福你的人民以色列，和你赐给我们的土地，即你向我们祖先所誓许的那流奶流蜜的地方。＂
16 ＂This day the LORD, your God, commands you to observe these statutes and decrees. Be careful, then, to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.
上主你的天主今天吩咐你遵行这些法令和规则，你应全心全灵谨守遵行。
17 Today you are making this agreement with the LORD: he is to be your God and you are to walk in his ways and observe his statutes, commandments and decrees, and to hearken to his voice.
今天你明认上主是你的天主，愿履行他的道路，谨守他的法令、诫命和规则，听从他的话。
18 And today the LORD is making this agreement with you: you are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you; and provided you keep all his commandments,
上主今天也照他对你所说的，明认你为他特属的人民，只要你谨守他的一切诫命，
19 he will then raise you high in praise and renown and glory above all other nations he has made, and you will be a people sacred to the LORD, your God, as he promised.＂

Chapter 27
1 Then Moses, with the elders of Israel, gave the people this order: ＂Keep all these commandments which I enjoin on you today.

2 On the day you cross the Jordan into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.
在你们过约但河，进入上主你的天主赐给你的土地的那一天，应竖立几块大石，涂上石灰；
3 Also write on them, at the time you cross, all the words of this law, that you may thus enter into the land flowing with milk and honey, which the LORD, your God, and the God of your fathers, is giving you as he promised you.
在你过河进入上主你的天主赐给你的地方，即上主你祖先的天主许给你的流奶流蜜的地方之后，要立即将这法律的一切话刻在上面。
4 When, moreover, you have crossed the Jordan, besides setting up on Mount Ebal these stones concerning which I command you today, and coating them with plaster,
所以，你们一过了约但河，就该照我今日吩咐你们的，在厄巴耳山上竖立这些石头，涂上石灰；
5 you shall also build to the LORD, your God, an altar made of stones that no iron tool has touched.
并在那里给上主你的天主建筑一座祭坛，一座未用斧凿的石头修的祭坛；
6 You shall make this altar of the LORD, your God, with undressed stones, and shall offer on it holocausts to the LORD, your God.
应用未加入人工的石头建筑上主你的天主的祭坛，在上面给上主你的天主奉献全燔祭，
7 You shall also sacrifice peace offerings and eat them there, making merry before the LORD, your God.
祭献和平祭，并在那里设宴，在上主你的天主面前欢乐。
8 1 On the stones you shall inscribe all the words of this law very clearly.＂
在这些石头上，应清清楚楚刻上这法律的一切话。＂
9 Moses, with the levitical priests, then said to all Israel: ＂Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD, your God.
梅瑟和肋未司祭对全以色列人说：＂以色列人！你们应静默细听：你今天既成了上主你的天主的人民，
10 You shall therefore hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes which I enjoin on you today.＂
就应听从上主你的天主的话，遵行我今日给你吩咐的上主的诫命和法令。＂
11 That same day Moses gave the people this order:
梅瑟在那一天又吩咐人民说：＂
12 ＂When you cross the Jordan, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin shall stand on Mount Gerizim to pronounce blessings over the people,
你们过了约但河以后，应站在革黎斤山上降福人民的，是西默盎、肋未、犹大、依撒加尔、若瑟和本雅明；
13 while Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses.
站在厄巴耳山上宣布诅咒的，是勒乌本、加得、阿协尔、则步隆、丹和纳斐塔里。
14 ＂The Levites shall proclaim aloud to all the men of Israel:
肋未人应大声向所有的以色列人喊说：
15 2 ‘Cursed be the man who makes a carved or molten idol--an abomination to the LORD, the product of a craftsman's hands--and sets it up in secret!' And all the people shall answer,‘Amen!'
那制造上主所憎恶的雕象或铸象，并将匠人的作品，放在暗处的人，是可咒骂的。全体人民应答说：阿们。
16 ‘Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother!' And all the people shall answer,‘Amen!'

17‘Cursed be he who moves his neighbor's landmarks!' And all the people shall answer,‘Amen!'

20 ‘Cursed be he who has relations with his father's wife, for he dishonors his father's bed!' And all the people shall answer, ‘Amen!'

Chapter 28
1 1 ＂Thus, then, shall it be: if you continue to heed the voice of the LORD, your God, and are careful to observe all his commandments which I enjoin on you today, the LORD, your God, will raise you high above all the nations of the earth.
你若实在听从上主你的天主的话，谨守遵行我今天吩咐你的这一切诫命，上主你的天主必使你远超过地上所有的民族。
2 When you hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, all these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm you:
如果你听从上主你的天主的话，下面这些降福必临于你，来到你身上。
3 ＂May you be blessed in the city, and blessed in the country!
你在城内必蒙受降福，在乡下也必蒙受降福。
4 ＂Blessed be the fruit of your womb, the produce of your soil and the offspring of your livestock, the issue of your herds and the young of your flocks!
你身所生的，田地所产的，牲畜所出的，牛所生殖的，羊所产下的，都要蒙受降福。
5 ＂Blessed be your grain bin and your kneading bowl!
你的筐篮，你的揉面盆，都要蒙受降福。
6 2 ＂May you be blessed in your coming in, and blessed in your going out!
你进来，蒙受降福；你出去，也蒙受降福。
7 3 ＂The LORD will beat down before you the enemies that rise up against you; though they come out against you from but one direction, they will flee before you in seven.
起来攻击你的仇敌，上主必使他们在你面前崩溃；他们由一路来攻击你，却分七路由你面前逃去。
8 The LORD will affirm his blessing upon you, on your barns and on all your undertakings, blessing you in the land that the LORD, your God, gives you.
上主决定对你的仓廪和在你着手进行的事上降福你；在上主你的天主赐给你的土地上，必要降福你。
9 Provided that you keep the commandments of the LORD, your God, and walk in his ways, he will establish you as a people sacred to himself, as he swore to you;
只要你谨守上主你的天主的诫命，遵行他的道路，上主必要照他誓许于你的，立你为他自己的圣民；
10 4 so that, when all the nations of the earth see you bearing the name of the LORD, they will stand in awe of you.
普世万民一见你属于上主的名下，必都怕你。
11 The LORD will increase in more than goodly measure the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your soil, in the land which he swore to your fathers he would give you.
在上主你的天主向你祖先起誓要赐给你的土地上，上主必使你满享幸福：儿女众多，牲畜繁殖，地产丰富。
12 The LORD will open up for you his rich treasure house of the heavens, to give your land rain in due season, blessing all your undertakings, so that you will lend to many nations and borrow from none.
上主必为你大开天上的宝库，给你的田地降下时雨，降福你手所做的一切；你要借给许多民族，而你却无须向人借贷。
13 5 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail, and you will always mount higher and not decline, as long as you obey the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I order you today to observe carefully;
上主必立你为首，而不做尾巴，你常是高高在上，而总不屈居在下，只要你听从我今天吩咐你的上主你天主的诫命，并谨守遵行，
14 not turning aside to the right or to the left from any of the commandments which I now give you, in order to follow other gods and serve them.
不左右偏离我今天吩咐你们的一切话，去跟随事奉其它的神。
15 ＂But if you do not hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, and are not careful to observe all his commandments which I enjoin on you today, all these curses shall come upon you and overwhelm you:
但是，如果你不听从上主你天主的话，不谨守遵行我今天吩咐你的上主的一切诫命和法令，下面这些咒骂必要临于你，来到你身上。
16 ＂May you be cursed in the city, and cursed in the country!
你在城内必遭受咒骂，在乡下也必遭受咒骂。
17 ＂Cursed be your grain bin and your kneading bowl!
你的筐篮，你的揉面盆，都要遭受咒骂。
18 ＂Cursed be the fruit of your womb, the produce of your soil and the offspring of your livestock, the issue of your herds and the young of your flocks!
你身所生的，田地所产的，牛所生殖的，羊所产下的，都要遭受咒骂。
19 ＂May you be cursed in your coming in, and cursed in your going out!
你进来，必遭受咒骂；
20 ＂The LORD will put a curse on you, defeat and frustration in every enterprise you undertake, until you are speedily destroyed and perish for the evil you have done in forsaking me.
你出去也必遭受咒骂。上主在你着手进行的一切事上，必使你遭受灾难、困扰和恐吓，直到你完全毁灭，迅速灭亡，因为你作恶，离弃了我。
21 The LORD will bring a pestilence upon you that will persist until he has exterminated you from the land you are entering to occupy.
上主必使你瘟疫缠身，直到将你由你要去占领的地上完全消灭。
22 The LORD will strike you with wasting and fever, with scorching, fiery drought, with blight and searing wind, that will plague you until you perish.
上主必用痨病、热病、疟疾、炎热、干旱、热风和霉烂打击你；这些灾殃必追击你，直到你灭亡。
23 The sky over your heads will be like bronze and the earth under your feet like iron.
你头上的天将变为铜，你下面的地将变为铁。
24 For rain the LORD will give your land powdery dust, which will come down upon you from the sky until you are destroyed.
上主必使雨变成灰沙降在你的田地里，由天上降在你身上，直到你完全毁灭。
25 The LORD will let you be beaten down before your enemies; though you advance against them from one direction, you will flee before them in seven, so that you will become a terrifying example to all the kingdoms of the earth.
上主必使你在仇敌面前崩溃；你由一路出击他们，却分七路由他们前逃去；你要成为普世万国惊骇的对象。
26 Your carcasses will become food for all the birds of the air and for the beasts of the field, with no one to frighten them off.
你的尸首必成为天空飞鸟，和地上走兽的食物；无人来将它们吓走。
27 The LORD will strike you with Egyptian boils and with tumors, eczema and the itch, until you cannot be cured.
上主必用埃及的脓疮、痔漏、癣疥和红疹打击你，使你无法医治。
28 And the LORD will strike you with madness, blindness and panic,
上主必用癫狂、眼瞎和心乱打击你；
29 so that even at midday you will grope like a blind man in the dark, unable to find your way. ＂You will be oppressed and robbed continually, with no one to come to your aid.
在正午时，你要摸索有如在黑暗中摸索的瞎子；你的所作所为决不会顺利；你必日日受人压迫剥削，而无人援助。
30 Though you betroth a wife, another man will have her. Though you build a house, you will not live in it. Though you plant a vineyard, you will not enjoy its fruits.
你与一女子订婚，别人却来与她同寝；你建筑一座房屋，却不得住在里面；你栽植葡萄园，却得不到享用。
31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, and you will not eat of its flesh. Your ass will be stolen in your presence, but you will not recover it. Your flocks will be given to your enemies, with no one to come to your aid.
你的牛在你眼前被杀，你却不能吃它的肉；你的驴由你眼前被人抢去，再不归还给你；你的羊群被交给你的敌人，却无人来援助你。
32 Your sons and daughters will be given to a foreign nation while you look on and grieve for them in constant helplessness.
你的儿女被交给外方民族，你只有双眼张望，日日为他们焦虑，但你却无能为力。
33 A people whom you do not know will consume the fruit of your soil and of all your labor, and you will be oppressed and crushed at all times without surcease,
你田地的出产和你劳力之所得，却为你不认识的一个民族吃尽；你只有时时被人压迫蹂躏；
34 until you are driven mad by what your eyes must look upon.
你必要因你亲眼所见的事而变为疯狂。
35 6 The LORD will strike you with malignant boils of which you cannot be cured, on your knees and legs, and from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head.
上主必用恶疮打击你的膝和腿，由踵至顶，使你无法医治。
36 ＂The LORD will bring you, and your king whom you have set over you, to a nation which you and your fathers have not known, and there you will serve strange gods of wood and stone,
上主必将你和你所立的统治你的君王，送到你和你祖先不认识的一个民族那里去，在那里你要事奉别的神，即木石所制的神。
37 and will call forth amazement, reproach and barbed scorn from all the nations to which the LORD will lead you.
在上主要送你去的各民族中，你必成为惊骇、嘲笑和讽刺的对象。
38 ＂Though you spend much seed on your field, you will harvest but little, for the locusts will devour the crop.
你在田间撒的种子虽然很多，但收获的却很少，因为蝗虫要来吃尽。
39 Though you plant and cultivate vineyards, you will not drink or store up the wine, for the grubs will eat the vines clean.
你虽然栽种修剪葡萄园，却没有酒喝，没有收成，因为都要为虫子吃尽。
40 Though you have olive trees throughout your country, you will have no oil for ointment, for your olives will drop off unripe.
你虽然在全境栽有橄榄树，却没有油抹身，因为橄榄要遂结遂落。
41 Though you beget sons and daughters, they will not remain with you, but will go into captivity.
你虽然生子养女，但他们却不属于你，因为他们要被掳去。
42 Buzzing insects will infest all your trees and the crops of your soil.
害虫要吃尽你所有的树木和土地的出产。
43 The alien residing among you will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink lower and lower.
住在你中间的外方人不断发达兴旺，远在你以上，你反而日趋卑下。
44 He will lend to you, not you to him. He will become the head, you the tail.
他要借给你，你却不能借给他；他要为首，你却要做尾巴。
45 ＂All these curses will come upon you, pursuing you and overwhelming you, until you are destroyed, because you would not hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God, nor keep the commandments and statutes he gave you.
这一切咒骂必临于你，追击你，来到你身上，直到你全被消灭，因为你没有听从上主你天主的话，没有遵守他吩咐你的诫命和法令。
46 7 They will light on you and your descendants as a sign and a wonder for all time.
这些咒骂对你和你的子孙，永远是一个徽号和征兆。
47 Since you would not serve the LORD, your God, with joy and gratitude for abundance of every kind,
因为在财物富裕时，你没有诚心悦意地去事奉上主你的天主，
48 therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and utter poverty, you will serve the enemies whom the LORD will send against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck, until he destroys you.
你必在饥渴，赤身露体，一无所有中，服侍上主派来攻击你的仇敌；他必将铁轭放在你的颈上，直到将你消灭。
49 ＂The LORD will raise up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, that swoops down like an eagle, a nation whose tongue you do not understand,
上主必由远方，由地极引来一个民族，象鹰一样扑袭你；这民族的语言，你不明了；
50 a nation of stern visage, that shows neither respect for the aged nor pity for the young.
这民族又铁面无情，不敬老，不恤幼；
51 They will consume the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your soil, until you are destroyed; they will leave you no grain or wine or oil, no issue of your herds or young of your flocks, until they have brought about your ruin.
他必吞食你家畜的幼雏，和田地的产物，直到你被消灭；必不给你留下什么谷、米、酒、油、牛犊或羔羊，直到将你完全毁灭。
52 They will besiege you in each of your communities, until the great, unscalable walls you trust in come tumbling down all over your land. They will so besiege you in every community throughout the land which the LORD, your God, has given you,
他必将你围困在所有的城镇内，直到你全国内所依恃的高大坚固的城墙都被攻陷；当你被围困在上主你天主赐给你的全境各城镇内时，
53 that in the distress of the siege to which your enemy subjects you, you will eat the fruit of your womb, the flesh of your own sons and daughters whom the LORD, your God, has given you.
在你被仇敌围困的穷困中，你要吃你自身所生，即上主你天主赐给你子女的肉。
54 The most refined and fastidious man among you will begrudge his brother and his beloved wife and his surviving children,
你中间最温柔娇嫩的男人，这时对自己的兄弟、怀中的妻子、尚存的子女，也必冷眼相看，
55 any share in the flesh of his children that he himself is using for food when nothing else is left him in the straits of the siege to which your enemy will subject you in all your communities.
不愿将他所吃的子女的肉，分给他们任何人，因为在你的仇敌使你在各城镇中受围困陷于绝境时，已一无所剩。
56 The most refined and delicate woman among you, so delicate and refined that she would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground, will begrudge her beloved husband and her son and daughter
你中间最温柔娇嫩的女人，先前娇嫩温柔得连脚都不踏在地上，这时对自己怀中的丈夫、自己的子女、也要冷眼相看，
57 the afterbirth that issues from her womb and the infant she brings forth when she secretly uses them for food for want of anything else, in the straits of the siege to which your enemy will subject you in your communities.
暗中将她两腿间脱出的胞衣，和她所生的子女吃掉，因为在你的仇敌使你在各城镇中受围困，陷于穷困时，已一无所有。
58 ＂If you are not careful to observe every word of the law which is written in this book, and to revere the glorious and awesome name of the LORD, your God,
如果你不谨守遵行这书上所记的法律的一切条文，敬畏这光荣可畏的名号：上主你的天主，
59 he will smite you and your descendants with severe and constant blows, malignant and lasting maladies.
上主必使你和你的后裔遭受更奇特的灾害，大而且久的灾害，毒而且顽的疾病；
60 8 He will again afflict you with all the diseases of Egypt which you dread, and they will persist among you.
必使你所怕的各种埃及病灾发生在你身上，缠绕着你。
61 Should there be any kind of sickness or calamity not mentioned in this book of the law, that too the LORD will bring upon you until you are destroyed.
此外，在这法律书上所没有记载的一切疾病和灾害，上主也要引来降在你身上，直到将你完全消灭。
62 Of you who were numerous as the stars in the sky, only a few will be left, because you would not hearken to the voice of the LORD, your God.
你们以前虽然多如天上的繁星，你们所留下的，却寥寥无几，因为你没有听从上主你天主的话。
63 ＂Just as the LORD once took delight in making you grow and prosper, so will he now take delight in ruining and destroying you, and you will be plucked out of the land you are now entering to occupy.
有如上主先前怎样喜欢你们获得幸福，使你们人数众多，将来也要怎样喜欢你们衰落，使你们灭亡，使你们由你要去占领的地上尽被铲除。
64 The LORD will scatter you among all the nations from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will serve strange gods of wood and stone, such as you and your fathers have not known.
上主要将你分散在大地两极间所有人民中，你要在那里事奉你和你祖先所不认识的外神，即木石之神；
65 9 Among these nations you will find no repose, not a foot of ground to stand upon, for there the LORD will give you an anguished heart and wasted eyes and a dismayed spirit.
而且在这些民族中，你总得不到安宁，也找不到一块歇脚的地方；上主在那里必使你心情烦乱，眼目憔悴，精神颓丧。
66 You will live in constant suspense and stand in dread both day and night, never sure of your existence.
你未来的生活必提心吊胆，日夜惊惶；生命毫无保障。
67 In the morning you will say, 'Would that it were evening!' and in the evening you will say, 'Would that it were morning!' for the dread that your heart must feel and the sight that your eyes must see.
因你心情恐慌，因你眼见的景象，早晨你要说：＂巴不得现在是晚上！＂到了晚上你又要说：＂巴不得现在是早晨！＂
68 10 The LORD will send you back in galleys to Egypt, to the region I told you that you were never to see again; and there you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.＂
上主要用船将你送回埃及，走我曾告诉你，你不会再见的那条路；在那里你们虽自愿将自己卖给你的仇敌为奴为婢，却无人肯买。
69 These are the words of the covenant which the LORD ordered Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant which he made with them at Horeb.

2 the great testings your own eyes have seen, and those great signs and wonders.

3 1 But not even at the present day has the LORD yet given you a mind to understand, or eyes to see, or ears to hear.
但是，直到今天，上主还没有给你们一颗能明了的心，能看见的眼，能听见的耳。
4 ‘I led you for forty years in the desert. Your clothes did not fall from you in tatters nor your sandals from your feet;
我在旷野四十年之久领导你们，你们身上的衣服没有穿坏，脚上的鞋也没有穿破；
5 bread was not your food, nor wine or beer your drink. Thus you should know that I, the LORD, am your God.'
当时你们没有吃粮食，也没有喝清酒醇酒，这是要你们知道，我上主是你们的天主。
6 When we came to this place, Sihon, king of Heshbon, and Og, king of Bashan, came out to engage us in battle, but we defeated them
你们一来到此地，赫市朋王息红和巴商王敖格出来与我们交战，我们击败了他们，
7 and took over their land, which we then gave as a heritage to the Reubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh.

8 Keep the terms of this covenant, therefore, and fulfill them, that you may succeed in whatever you do.

9 ＂You are all now standing before the LORD, your God--your chiefs and judges, your elders and officials, and all of the men of Israel,
今天你们全都站在上主你们的天主面前，──你们的首领、族长、长老、官长、和以色列所有的男子，
10 together with your wives and children and the aliens who live in your camp, down to those who hew wood and draw water for you—
你们的幼小和妻子，以及在你营中的外方人，从为你砍柴到为你汲水的人，──
11 2 that you may enter into the covenant of the LORD, your God, which he concluded with you today under this sanction of a curse;
都来同上主你的天主缔结盟约。即上主你的天主今天与你所立的附有诅咒的誓约，
12 so that he may now establish you as his people and he may be your God, as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
好叫他今天，有如他向你所许过的，有如他向你祖先亚巴郎、依撒格和雅各伯所誓许的：立你做他的人民，他做你的天主。
13 But it is not with you alone that I am making this covenant, under this sanction of a curse;
我不但与你们立这约和这誓，
14 3 it is just as much with those who are not here among us today as it is with those of us who are now here present before the LORD, our God.
而且也与那些今天与我们同站在上主我们的天主面前的人，和那些今天不与我们同在这里的人立约。
15 ＂You know in what surroundings we lived in the land of Egypt and what we passed by in the nations we traversed,
你们清楚知道，我们怎样在埃及地住过，怎样由一些民族中间走过；
16 and you saw the loathsome idols of wood and stone, of gold and silver, that they possess.
你们也见过他们的丑恶之物和他们那里所有的木、石、金、银的偶象。
17 Let there be, then, no man or woman, no clan or tribe among you, who would now turn away their hearts from the LORD, our God, to go and serve these pagan gods! Let there be no root that would bear such poison and wormwood among you.
惟愿在你们中没有一个男人或女人，或家族，或支派，今日存心远离上主我们的天主，去奉事这些民族的神；惟愿在他们中没有一根生出毒草和苦艾的根子，
18 4 If any such person, upon hearing the words of this curse, should beguile himself into thinking that he can safely persist in his stubbornness of heart, as though to sweep away both the watered soil and the parched ground,
以致有人在听了这咒誓之后心中庆幸说：＂我虽随心所欲地行事，仍平安无事。＂这要使湿地与干地同归于尽。
19 the LORD will never consent to pardon him. Instead, the LORD'S wrath and jealousy will flare up against that man, and every curse mentioned in this book will alight on him. The LORD will blot out his name from under the heavens
上主决不肯宽恕他；上主的烈怒和愤恨必向这人发作，这书上载的一切诅咒都要降在他身上，上主必由天下抹去他的名字。
20 and will single him out from all the tribes of Israel for doom, in keeping with all the curses of the covenant inscribed in this book of the law.
上主将把他由以色列各支派中分出，照这法律书上所载的一切诅咒，使他遭受灾祸。
21 ＂Future generations, your own descendants who will rise up after you, as well as the foreigners who will come here from far-off lands, when they see the calamities of this land and the ills with which the LORD has smitten it—
未来的一代，即继你们而兴起的子孙，和远地来的外方人，见了这地的灾祸和上主所降的灾殃，
22 all its soil being nothing but sulphur and salt, a burnt-out waste, unsown and unfruitful, without a blade of grass, destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in his furious wrath—
见了硫磺、盐卤和被焚毁的整个地区，不能耕种，没有出产，寸草不生，正如上主在忿怒和气愤中消灭的索多玛、哈摩辣、阿玛得和责波殷所受的破坏一样，
23 they and all the nations will ask, 'Why has the LORD dealt thus with this land? Why this fierce outburst of wrath?'
各民族要问说：＂为什么上主这样对待了这地？这盛怒为何如此猛烈？＂
24 And the answer will be,‘Because they forsook the covenant which the LORD, the God of their fathers, had made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,
人必回答说：＂这是因为他们离弃了上主他们祖先的天主，领他们出埃及地时，与他们所缔结的盟约，
25 and they went and served other gods and adored them, gods whom they did not know and whom he had not let fall to their lot:
而去事奉了其它的神，叩拜了他们素不认识，没有给他们指定的神；
26 that is why the LORD was angry with this land and brought on it all the imprecations listed in this book;
上主于是向这地大发忿怒，使这书上记载的一切诅咒都降在这地上。
27 in his furious wrath and tremendous anger the LORD uprooted them from their soil and cast them out into a strange land, where they are today.'
上主遂在忿怒激忿和烈怒中，将他们由本地拔除，拋弃在异国，就象今天一样。＂
28 5 (Both what is still hidden and what has already been revealed concern us and our descendants forever, that we may carry out all the words of this law.)
隐密的事，属于上主我们的天主，已启示的事，却永远与我们和我们的子孙有关，为叫我们实行这法律上的一切话。

Chapter 30
1 ＂When all these things which I have set before you, the blessings and the curses, are fulfilled in you, and from among whatever nations the LORD, your God, may have dispersed you, you ponder them in your heart:
几时这一切事，就是我在你面前提出的降福和诅咒，来到你身上，而你在上主你的天主驱逐你去的异族中，回心转意，
2 then, provided that you and your children return to the LORD, your God, and heed his voice with all your heart and all your soul, just as I now command you,
你和你的子孙全心全灵归向上主你的天主，全照我今天吩咐你的，听从他的话，
3 the LORD, your God, will change your lot; and taking pity on you, he will again gather you from all the nations wherein he has scattered you.
那么，上主你的天主必转变你的命运，怜悯你；上主你的天主必从分散你去的各民族中，再召集你回来；
4 Though you may have been driven to the farthest corner of the world, even from there will the LORD, your God, gather you; even from there will he bring you back.
即便被放逐的人远在天涯，上主你的天主也要从那里召回，将你从那里领回来。
5 The LORD, your God, will then bring you into the land which your fathers once occupied, that you too may occupy it, and he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers.
上主你的天主必领你进入你祖先所占领的土地，叫你再占领；也必使你比你的祖先更幸福，更众多。
6 1 The LORD, your God, will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, that you may love the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and so may live.
那时，上主你的天主必在你的心上，和你后裔的心上行割损，叫你全心全灵爱慕上主你的天主，使你得以生存。
7 But all those curses the LORD, your God, will assign to your enemies and the foes who persecuted you.
上主你的天主必将这一切诅咒，加在迫害你的仇人和敌人身上。
8 You, however, must again heed the LORD'S voice and carry out all his commandments which I now enjoin on you.
从此，你必再听从上主的话，遵行我今天吩咐你的一切诫命。
9 Then the LORD, your God, will increase in more than goodly measure the returns from all your labors, the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your soil; for the LORD, your God, will again take delight in your prosperity, even as he took delight in your fathers',
上主你的天主必使你做的一切事，你身所生的、牲畜所出的、田地所产的，都顺利兴旺，因为上主要再喜欢你，使你享福，如他以前喜欢你的祖先一样，
10 if only you heed the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes that are written in this book of the law, when you return to the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul.
只要你听从上主你天主的话，谨守这法律书上所记载的诫命和法令；只要你全心全灵回头，归向上主你的天主。
11 2 ＂For this command which I enjoin on you today is not too mysterious and remote for you.
其实，我今天吩咐你的这诫命，为你并不太难，也不是达不到的。
12 It is not up in the sky, that you should say, ‘Who will go up in the sky to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may carry it out?'
这诫命不在天上，以致你能说：＂谁能为我们上到天上，给我们取下，使我们听了好能遵行呢？＂
13 Nor is it across the sea, that you should say,‘Who will cross the sea to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may carry it out?'
也不在海外，以致你能说：＂谁能为我们渡到海外，给我们取来，使我们听了好能遵行呢？＂
14 3 No, it is something very near to you, already in your mouths and in your hearts; you have only to carry it out.
其实，这话离你很近，就在你口里，就在你心里，使你遵行。
15 ＂Here, then, I have today set before you life and prosperity, death and doom.
你看，我今天将生命与幸福，死亡与灾祸，都摆在你面前，
16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I enjoin on you today, loving him, and walking in his ways, and keeping his commandments, statutes and decrees, you will live and grow numerous, and the LORD, your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to occupy.
如果你遵行我今天吩咐你的，上主你天主的诫命：爱慕上主你的天主，履行他的道路，谨守他的诫命、法令和规定，你必能生活繁荣，上主你的天主在你要去占领的地上，必要降福你。
17 If, however, you turn away your hearts and will not listen, but are led astray and adore and serve other gods,
但是，如果你心中叛离，不愿听从，被人引去敬拜事奉其它的神，
18 I tell you now that you will certainly perish; you will not have a long life on the land which you are crossing the Jordan to enter and occupy.
我今天警告你们：你们必要灭亡，在你渡过约但河去占领的土地上，决不能久存。
19 I call heaven and earth today to witness against you: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live,
我今天指着天地向你们作证：我已将生命与死亡，祝福与诅咒，都摆在你面前；你要选择生命，为叫你和你的后裔得以生存；
20 by loving the LORD, your God, heeding his voice, and holding fast to him. For that will mean life for you, a long life for you to live on the land which the LORD swore he would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.＂
你应爱慕上主你的天主，听从他的话，完全依赖他；因为这样你才能生活，才能久存，才能住在上主向你的祖先亚巴郎、依撒格和雅各伯誓许要给他们的土地上。

Chapter 31
1 When Moses had finished speaking these words to all Israel,

2 he said to them, ＂I am now one hundred and twenty years old and am no longer able to move about freely; besides, the LORD has told me that I shall not cross this Jordan.
＂我今天已经一百二十岁，再不能出入；而且上主曾对我说：‘你不能过这约但河。’
3 It is the LORD, your God, who will cross before you; he will destroy these nations before you, that you may supplant them. (It is Joshua who will cross before you, as the LORD promised.)
上主你的天主亲自要领你过去，亲自要由你面前将这些民族消灭，使你占领他们的土地；按上主所许过的，若苏厄将领你们过去。
4 The LORD will deal with them just as he dealt with Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites whom he destroyed, and with their country.
上主对待那些民族，必象以前对待阿摩黎人王息红和敖格，以及他们的国一样，将他们完全消灭。
5 When, therefore, the LORD delivers them up to you, you must deal with them exactly as I have ordered you.
上主必将他们交于你们，你们应依照我吩咐你们的一切命令，对待他们。
6 Be brave and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you.＂
你们应勇敢坚决，不要害怕，在他们面前也不要畏惧，因为上主你的天主亲自与你同行，决不拋弃你，也决不离开你。＂
7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and in the presence of all Israel said to him, ＂Be brave and steadfast, for you must bring this people into the land which the LORD swore to their fathers he would give them; you must put them in possession of their heritage.
然后梅瑟召若苏厄来，当着全以色列的面对他说：＂你要勇敢坚决，因为你应领这人民，进入上主向他们祖先誓许要赐予他们的土地；你应将那地分给他们作为基业。
8 It is the LORD who marches before you; he will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed.＂
上主必亲自领导你，与你同在，决不拋弃你，也决不离开你；你不要害怕，也不要胆怯。＂
9 When Moses had written down this law, he entrusted it to the levitical priests who carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel,
梅瑟写好这法律，交给抬上主约柜的肋未子孙司祭，和以色列所有的长老；
10 1 giving them this order: ＂On the feast of Booths, at the prescribed time in the year of relaxation which comes at the end of every seven-year period,
然后梅瑟吩咐他们说：＂每逢七年，即在豁免年间的帐棚节期内，
11 2 when all Israel goes to appear before the LORD, your God, in the place which he chooses, you shall read this law aloud in the presence of all Israel.
当全以色列人来到上主你的天主所选的地方朝拜上主时，你应在全以色列人前，大声宣读这法律。
12 Assemble the people--men, women and children, as well as the aliens who live in your communities--that they may hear it and learn it, and so fear the LORD, your God, and carefully observe all the words of this law.
你应召集人民，男女幼小，和你城镇中的外方人，叫他们都听到，好学习敬畏上主你们的天主，谨守遵行这法律上的一切话。
13 Their children also, who do not know it yet, must hear it and learn it, that they too may fear the LORD, your God, as long as you live on the land which you will cross the Jordan to occupy.＂
尚不认识这法律的子女，也应叫他们听到，好使他们在你们渡过约但河去占领的土地上生活的时候，日日学习敬畏上主你们的天主。＂
14 3 The LORD said to Moses, ＂The time is now approaching for you to die. Summon Joshua, and present yourselves at the meeting tent that I may give him his commission.＂ So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the meeting tent.
上主对梅瑟说：＂看，你的死期已近，你召若苏厄来，你们一起站在会幕那里，我好吩咐他。＂梅瑟于是和若苏厄前去，一起站在会幕那里。
15 And the LORD appeared at the tent in a column of cloud, which stood still at the entrance of the tent.
上主出现在会幕上，在云柱中，这云柱停在会幕门口上面。
16 The LORD said to Moses, ＂Soon you will be at rest with your fathers, and then this people will take to rendering wanton worship to the strange gods among whom they will live in the land they are about to enter. They will forsake me and break the covenant which I have made with them.
上主对梅瑟说：＂看，你快与你的祖先同眠；这人民要起来，在要去的地方内，同异邦之神行淫，而离弃我，破坏我与他们所订立的盟约。
17 At that time my anger will flare up against them; I will forsake them and hide my face from them, so that they will become a prey to be devoured, and many evils and troubles will befall them. At that time they will indeed say, ‘Is it not because our God is not among us that these evils have befallen us?'
那时，我必要对他们大发忿怒，拋弃他们，掩面不顾他们，让他们被人吞并，使他们遭遇许多灾祸和艰难；到那日他们必说：‘我遭遇了这些灾祸，岂不是因为我的天主已不在我中间了么？’
18 Yet I will be hiding my face from them at that time only because of all the evil they have done in turning to other gods.
因了他们归向其它的神所作的一切邪恶，那天我必掩面不顾他们。
19 Write out this song, then, for yourselves. Teach it to the Israelites and have them recite it, so that this song may be a witness for me against the Israelites.
所以，现在你应写下这篇诗歌，教给以色列子民，放在他们口中，使这诗歌成为我反对以色列子民的证据。
20 For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey which I promised on oath to their fathers, and they have eaten their fill and grown fat, if they turn to other gods and serve them, despising me and breaking my covenant;
因我领他们进了我对他们的祖先所誓许的流奶流蜜的土地，他们吃饱了，吃肥了，却归向了其它的神，事奉他们，而蔑视我，破坏我的盟约。
21 then, when many evils and troubles befall them, this song, which their descendants will not have forgotten to recite, will bear witness against them. For I know what they are inclined to do even at the present time, before I have brought them into the land which I promised on oath to their fathers.＂
当他们遭遇到许多灾祸和艰难时，这诗歌就成为反对他们的证据，因为这诗歌总不会由他们后裔的口中失传。的确，在我领他们进入我誓许的地方以前，我早已知道他们今天所怀的企图。＂
22 So Moses wrote this song that same day, and he taught it to the Israelites.
梅瑟遂在那一天写下了这篇诗歌，教给了以色列子民。
23 Then the LORD commissioned Joshua, son of Nun, and said to him, ＂Be brave and steadfast, for it is you who must bring the Israelites into the land which I promised them on oath. I myself will be with you.＂
此后，上主吩咐农的儿子若苏厄说：＂你要勇敢坚决，因为你要领以色列子民进入我给他们誓许的土地，我必与你同在。＂
24 When Moses had finished writing out on a scroll the words of the law in their entirety,
梅瑟将这法律的话在书上写完以后，
25 he gave the Levites who carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD this order:
便吩咐抬上主约柜的肋未人说：
26 ＂Take this scroll of the law and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD, your God, that there it may be a witness against you.
＂你们将这法律书拿去，放在上主你们天主的约柜旁，留在那里作为反对你的证据。
27 For I already know how rebellious and stiff-necked you will be. Why, even now, while I am alive among you, you have been rebels against the LORD! How much more, then, after I am dead!
因为我知道你是如何顽固执拗。看，我还同你们生活在一起的今天，你们就这样反抗了上主；何况在我死后！
28 Therefore, assemble all your tribal elders and your officials before me, that I may speak these words for them to hear, and so may call heaven and earth to witness against them.
你们给我将你们支派所有的长老和官员召来，我要将这些话说给他们听，指着天地对他们作证。
29 For I know that after my death you are sure to become corrupt and to turn aside from the way along which I directed you, so that evil will befall you in some future age because you have done evil in the LORD'S sight, and provoked him by your deeds.＂
因为我知道在我死后，你们必定完全败坏，离弃我吩咐你们的道；最后，你们必要遭遇灾祸，因为作了上主视为邪恶的事，以你们的作为，使他发怒。＂
30 Then Moses recited the words of this song from beginning to end, for the whole assembly of Israel to hear:
梅瑟遂在以色列全体会众前，由头至尾，大声朗诵了这篇诗歌的话。

Chapter 32
1 1 Give ear, O heavens, while I speak; let the earth hearken to the words of my mouth!
苍天，倾听，我要发言；大地，聆听我口要说的话！
2 May my instruction soak in like the rain, and my discourse permeate like the dew, Like a downpour upon the grass, like a shower upon the crops.
愿我的教训如雨下降，我的言语似露滴落，象降在绿茵上的细雨，象落在青草上的甘霖！
3 For I will sing the LORD'S renown. Oh, proclaim the greatness of our God!
因为我要宣扬上主的名，请赞颂我们的天主！
4 The Rock--how faultless are his deeds, how right all his ways! A faithful God, without deceit, how just and upright he is!
他是盘石，他的作为完美无比；他的行径公平正直，他是忠实无妄的天主，公义而又正直。
5 Yet basely has he been treated by his degenerate children, a perverse and crooked race!
那不堪称为子女的，自趋堕落，背叛了他，实在是个邪恶败坏的世代！
6 Is the LORD to be thus repaid by you, O stupid and foolish people? Is he not your father who created you? Has he not made you and established you?
愚昧无知的人民，你们就这样报答上主吗？他不是生育你，创造你，使你生存的大父吗？
7 Think back on the days of old, reflect on the years of age upon age. Ask your father and he will inform you, ask your elders and they will tell you:
你回想往古的时日，思念历代的岁月；问你的父亲，问你的长辈，他必给你讲述；
8 2 When the Most High assigned the nations their heritage, when he parceled out the descendants of Adam, He set up the boundaries of the peoples after the number of the sons of God;
当至高者为民族分配产业时，分布人的子孙时，按照天使的数目，为万民划定了疆界；
9 While the LORD'S own portion was Jacob, His hereditary share was Israel.
但雅各伯是上主所保留的一分，以色列成为他特有的产业。
10 He found them in a wilderness, a wasteland of howling desert. He shielded them and cared for them, guarding them as the apple of his eye.
上主在旷野之地，在野兽咆哮的原野，发见了他，遂将他抱起，加以抚育，加以保护，有如自己的眼珠。
11 As an eagle incites its nestlings forth by hovering over its brood, So he spread his wings to receive them and bore them up on his pinions.
老鹰怎样守候自己的窝巢，飞翔在幼雏之上，上主也怎样伸展双翅，把他背在自己的翼上。
12 The LORD alone was their leader, no strange god was with him.
上主独自领导了他，他旁边并没有外邦的神祇。
13 3 He had them ride triumphant over the summits of the land and live off the products of its fields, Giving them honey to suck from its rocks and olive oil from its hard, stony ground;
上主使他驰骋于高原之上，以田间的出产养育他，使他享受岩穴间的蜜，坚石中的油，
14 4 Butter from its cows and milk from its sheep, with the fat of its lambs and rams; Its Bashan bulls and its goats, with the cream of its finest wheat; and the foaming blood of its grapes you drank.
牛酪和羊乳，肥美的羔羊和公羊，巴商的公牛与山羊，以及上等的麦面；并以葡萄美酒作你的饮品。
15 5 (So Jacob ate his fill,) the darling grew fat and frisky; you became fat and gross and gorged. They spurned the God who made them and scorned their saving Rock.
雅各布伯吃肥了，耶叔戎吃胖了，会踢人了。──的确，你胖了，肥了，饱满了。──他遂抛弃了造他的天主，轻视了救他的盘石。
16 They provoked him with strange gods and angered him with abominable idols.
他们以邪神的敬礼激起他的妒火，以可憎恶的事物，惹他动怒；
17 They offered sacrifice to demons, to ＂no-gods,＂ to gods whom they had not known before, To newcomers just arrived, of whom their fathers had never stood in awe.
他们所祭祀的是邪神，而非真神，是向来所不认识的神，是近来新兴，你们的祖先所不敬畏的神。
18 You were unmindful of the Rock that begot you, You forgot the God who gave you birth.
你忽略了那生你的盘石，忘记了那使你出世的天主。
19 When the LORD saw this, he was filled with loathing and anger toward his sons and daughters.
上主一见，大为震怒，遂拋弃了自己的子女，
20 ‘I will hide my face from them,＂ he said, ＂and see what will then become of them. What a fickle race they are, sons with no loyalty in them!
说我要掩面不顾他们，要看他们的结局如何；这实在是败坏的一代，毫无信实的子女。
21 ＂Since they have provoked me with their ‘no-god' and angered me with their vain idols, I will provoke them with a ‘no-people'; with a foolish nation I will anger them.
他们以虚妄之神，激起我的怒火，以虚无之物，惹我动怒；我也要以那不成子民的人激起他们的妒火，以愚昧的民族惹他们发怒。
22 ＂For by my wrath a fire is enkindled that shall rage to the depths of the nether world, Consuming the earth with its yield, and licking with flames the roots of the mountains.
我的怒火一燃起，必烧到阴府的深底，吞灭大地及其出产，焚毁山岳的基础。
23 I will spend on them woe upon woe and exhaust all my arrows against them:
我要将灾祸不断加在他们身上，向他们射尽我的箭矢。
24 ＂Emaciating hunger and consuming fever and bitter pestilence, And the teeth of wild beasts I will send among them, with the venom of reptiles gliding in the dust.
他们必因饥饿而衰弱，必为热症、毒疫所消灭；我还使尖牙的野兽和土中爬行的毒虫伤害他们。
25 ＂Snatched away by the sword in the street and by sheer terror at home Shall be the youth and the maiden alike, the nursing babe as well as the hoary old man.
外有刀剑，内有恐怖，使少男少女，乳儿白头，同归于尽。
26 ＂I would have said,‘I will make an end of them and blot out their name from men's memories,'
我原想粉碎他们，将他们的记念由人间消灭；
27 Had I not feared the insolence of their enemies, feared that these foes would mistakenly boast, 'Our own hand won the victory; the LORD had nothing to do with it.'＂

28 6 For they are a people devoid of reason, having no understanding.

29 If they had insight they would realize what happened, they would understand their future and say,

30 ＂How could one man rout a thousand, or two men put ten thousand to flight, Unless it was because their Rock sold them and the LORD delivered them up?＂

31 Indeed, their ＂rock＂ is not like our Rock, and our foes are under condemnation.

32 They are a branch of Sodom's vinestock, from the vineyards of Gomorrah. Poisonous are their grapes and bitter their clusters.

33 Their wine is the venom of dragons and the cruel poison of cobras.

36 7 Surely, the LORD shall do justice for his people; on his servants he shall have pity. When he sees their strength failing, and their protected and unprotected alike disappearing,

37 He will say, ＂Where are their gods whom they relied on as their ‘rock'?

38 Let those who ate the fat of your sacrifices and drank the wine of your libations Rise up now and help you! Let them be your protection!

39 ＂Learn then that I, I alone, am God, and there is no god besides me. It is I who bring both death and life, I who inflict wounds and heal them, and from my hand there is no rescue.

40 ＂To the heavens I raise my hand and swear: As surely as I live forever,

41 I will sharpen my flashing sword, and my hand shall lay hold of my quiver. ＂With vengeance I will repay my foes and requite those who hate me.

42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall gorge itself with flesh-- With the blood of the slain and the captured, Flesh from the heads of the enemy leaders.＂

43 Exult with him, you heavens, glorify him, all you angels of God; For he avenges the blood of his servants and purges his people's land.

44 So Moses, together with Joshua, son of Nun, went and recited all the words of this song for the people to hear.

45 When Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel,

48 On that very day the LORD said to Moses,

50 Then you shall die on the mountain you have climbed, and shall be taken to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and there was taken to his people;

51 because both of you broke faith with me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the desert of Zin by failing to manifest my sanctity among the Israelites.

52 You may indeed view the land at a distance, but you shall not enter that land which I am giving to the Israelites.＂

The whole song is a poetic sermon, having for its theme God's benefits to Israel (Deut 32:1-14) and Israel's ingratitude and idolatry in turning to the gods of the pagans, which sins will be punished by the pagans themselves (Deut 32:15-29); in turn, the foolish pride of the pagans will be punished, and the Lord's honor will be vindicated (Deut 32:30-43).

Chapter 33
1 This is the blessing which Moses, the man of God, pronounced upon the Israelites before he died.

2 1 He said: ＂The LORD came from Sinai and dawned on his people from Seir; He shone forth from Mount Paran and advanced from Meribath-kadesh, While at his right hand a fire blazed forth and his wrath devastated the nations.

22 11 Of Dan he said: ＂Dan is a lion's whelp, that springs forth from Bashan!＂

28 Israel has dwelt securely, and the fountain of Jacob has been undisturbed In a land of grain and wine, where the heavens drip with dew.

29 How fortunate you are, O Israel! Where else is a nation victorious in the LORD? The LORD is your saving shield, and his sword is your glory. Your enemies fawn upon you, as you stride upon their heights.＂

Chapter 34
1 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the headland of Pisgah which faces Jericho, and the LORD showed him all the land-Gilead, and as far as Dan,

2 all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,

3 the Negeb, the circuit of the Jordan with the lowlands at Jericho, city of palms, and as far as Zoar.

4 The LORD then said to him, ＂This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that I would give to their descendants. I have let you feast your eyes upon it, but you shall not cross over.＂

10 Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.

11 He had no equal in all the signs and wonders the LORD sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh and all his servants and against all his land,

12 and for the might and the terrifying power that Moses exhibited in the sight of all Israel.
