1上主訓示梅瑟說： 1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2「你告訴以色列子民說：我，上主是你們的天主。 2Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: I am the Lord your God.
3你們不要仿效你們住過的埃及地的習慣，也不要仿效我正要領你們去的客納罕地的習慣，不要隨從他們的風俗； 3You shall not do according to the custom of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt: neither shall you act according to the manner of the country of Chanaan, into which I will bring you, nor shall you walk in their ordinances.
4應執行我的規定，遵守我的法令，依照遵行：我，上主是你們的天主。 4You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God.
5你們應遵守我的法令和規定；遵守的人必因此獲得生命：我是上主。 5Keep my laws and my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them. I am the Lord.
6你們中任何人不可親近任何血親，去揭露她的下體：我是上主。 6No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord.
7你不可揭露你父親的下體和你母親的下體：她是你的母親，不可揭露她的下體。 7Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8你父親妻子的下體，你不可揭露，那是你父親的下體。 8Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father.
9你姊妹的下體，不論她是你父親的女兒，或你母親的女兒，或在家生的，或在外生的，你不可揭露她們的下體。 9Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy sister by father or by mother, whether born at home or abroad.
10你兒子的女兒，或你女兒的女兒的下體，你不可揭露，因為她們的下體是你的下體。 10Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son's daughter, or thy daughter's daughter: because it is thy own nakedness.
11你不可揭露你父親妻子的女兒的下體，因為她是你父親所生的，是你的姊妹，你不可揭露她的下體。 11Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, whom she bore to thy father, and who is thy sister.
12你父親姊妹的下體，你不可揭露，因為她是你父親的骨肉。 12Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: because she is the flesh of thy father.
13你母親姊妹的下體，你不可揭露，因為她是你母親的骨肉。 13Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: because she is thy mother's flesh.
14你父親兄弟的下體，你不可揭露，也不可親近他的妻子；她是你的叔伯母。 14Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother: neither shalt thou approach to his wife, who is joined to thee by affinity.
15你兒媳的下體，你不可揭露。她是你兒子的妻子，你不可揭露她的下體。 15Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: because she is thy son's wife, neither shalt thou discover her shame.
16你兄弟妻子的下體，你不可揭露；那是你兄弟的下體。 16Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: because it is the nakedness of thy brother.
17你不可揭露了一女人的下體又揭露她女兒的；不可娶她兒子的女兒，或她女兒的女兒，揭露她的下體，她們都是她的血親：這是醜行。 17Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy wife and her daughter. Thou shalt not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter, to discover her shame: because they are her flesh, and such copulation is incest.
18你不可娶一女人又娶她的姊妹，做她的情敵，在她活著的時候，揭露她姊妹的下體。 18Thou shalt not take thy wife's sister for a harlot, to rival her, neither shalt thou discover her nakedness, while she is yet living.
19女人在月經不潔期中，你不可接近，揭露她的下體。 19Thou shalt not approach to a woman having her flowers, neither shalt thou uncover her nakedness.
20你近人的妻子你不可與她同寢，為她所沾污。 20Thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour's wife, nor be defiled with mingling of seed.
21你不可使你任何一個子女經火祭獻給摩肋客，亦不可褻瀆你天主的名：我是上主。 21Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
22你不可與男人同寢，如同與女人同寢一樣：這是醜惡行為。 22Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination.
23你不可與任何獸類同寢，為牠所淫污；女人亦不可委身與走獸，同牠交合：這是逆性邪惡。 23Thou shalt not copulate with any beast, neither shalt thou be defiled with it. A woman shall not lie down to a beast, nor copulate with it: because it is a heinous crime.
24你們不可以任何這樣的事玷污自己，因為這些民族以這一切事玷污了自己，我正要由你們面前將他們驅逐； 24Defile not yourselves with any of these things with which all the nations have been defiled, which I will cast out before you,
25甚至連這地也玷污了，所以我必追究這地上的罪惡，使這地吐棄地上的居民。 25And with which the land is defiled: the abominations of which I will visit, that it may vomit out its inhabitants.
26至於你們，應遵守我的法令和規定；不論是本地人，或是寄居在你們中間的外方人，這樣醜惡的事，一件也不許做， 26Keep ye my ordinances and my judgments, and do not any of these abominations: neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you.
27因為在你們以前住在這地上的人，做過這一切醜惡的事，玷污了這地方。 27For all these detestable things the inhabitants of the land have done, that; were before you, and have defiled it.
28希望這地不因你們而再受到玷污，將你們吐棄，如同吐棄了你們以前的民族。 28Beware then, lest in like manner, it vomit you also out, if you do the like things, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
29因為，凡做任何一件這樣醜惡的事的，這樣的人，都應由民間剷除。 29Every soul that shall commit any of these abominations, shall perish from the midst of his people.
30所以你們應遵守我的禁令，不可仿效你們以前的人所有的醜惡風俗，免得因此受到玷污：我，上主是你們的天主。」 30Keep my commandments. Do not the things which they have done, that have been before you, and be not defiled therein. I am the Lord your God.
18:1-23
本章论婚姻和贞洁的法律，以「我，上主是你们的天主」一语（2,4两节），为其出发点。关於婚姻的阻碍，古代近东各民族，如巴比伦、赫特等民族中，也有明文规定，有的规定似乎更严格；为此有些学者否认本章的法律起源於梅瑟；此说毫无根据，而且与史事恰相反。本章内所说的下体，是指女人的私处；甚至7,14等节内所说的男子下体，亦指女人下体，因为夫妇结合已成为一体（创2:42），夫之下体，亦即妻之下体。「揭露下体」即指房事。
